5 of 5 Love so far Friday, February 18, 2005
saludwig1 from Westminster Co.
I have had my T5 work about 2 weeks now and I must say that when I went from the M515 to the T5 it was the best thing that I could have done, I love the easily readable screen, the native file formats for Word, Excel, and Power Point presentations (I know that they were available but couldn't squeeze it on my 515). I wasn't a fan of the slider of the T3 (fewer moving parts the better K.I.S.S.). Last year I went to Mexico for business and while I was in the airport in Denver my battery went dead to the point where it wiped the Rom and deleted everything. T5 insteade of the ROM has a flash memory so no more need of the back up card. Realone player (MP3 player) I love it. Will not own another PDA w/ out mp3 capabilities. now the cons: Would be nice to have an audio recorder, like the T3 For the money a guy would expect to get a cradle on such a machine not have to fork over another $50. Overall I think that this probably is the closest thing to perfection that the palm community will see for a while!

3 of 5 Very nice, but still a bit mising some key feature Sunday, November 28, 2004
Dave D. from Laytonsville, MD
I'm a long-time Palm user upgrading to about every model up until the M515. I've been dragging my feet waiting for Palm unit that has all the basic features I have been waiting for. I finally upgraded to the T5 because it very close to what I needed except for the lack of a mic and 802.11b. I hope the T6 will provide 802.11b and a microphone and then I'll be set!!! I also upgraded to the T5 because of all the m515 SUDS problems (Sudden Failure of USB). Palm Tech Support would not ship me a new units or an ESD back-up card. I was left high and dry and was determined to move to WinCE, but after some research on some unhappy Palm to WinCE converts, and happy WinCE to Palm converts, I decided to set my frustration aside and give Palm one last try. All in all, the T5 shows a lot of promise and I'm glad I moved to the T5. I hope Palm will listen and fix these and the T6 and OS will be the new WinCE killer. The T5 will hold me over for six months and I'll anxiously be awaiting the T6 and OS patches for my T5.

4 of 5 way cool! Thursday, November 11, 2004
A Customer from Kileen, TX
This is my fourth palm pilot (all upgrades) and I think it's worth the upgrade. A friend and I both bought T5s, and we've had a few issues with peripherals and software that needs to be upgraded to work with the T5. BUT--the fact that you can use this palm as a plug-and-play drive is awesome!

5 of 5 NICE! Sunday, October 24, 2004
Daryl from Columbus, OH
Teriffic unit! Don't worry about the battery. Longer life than the T3. Lithium batteries do not have memory issues and I've never had problems with them from Palm. My IIIc, which I passed along to my son is now using, is ancient and is just now starting to have diminished returns on battery life. My Tungsten C is chuggin along like a trooper. I expect no less from this unit. Also, having the ability to use the unit as a 'flash drive' is a great, too.

4 of 5 It's not that bad... Friday, October 15, 2004
JB from Chicagoland
Sorry DW from NJ, but the lack of a cradle is not important. The USB sync cable and power cord do come with the T5, but more importantly, it's Bluetooth enabled. The Palm syncs automatically when it gets within a few feet of your machine. As for the 500 charge "limit", well, if you charge the Palm every 2-3 days (realistically), that's about 3 years. Now, I agree that built-in obsolescence is not a good thing, but I'm sure in three years there will be a shiny new Palm that will be worth upgrading to. Something worth noting is that the memory in the new Palm is non-volatile, meaning that you won’t lose your data if one forgets to charge the Palm. Unlike the Sony I currently have, I won’t have to do a restore every time I forget to charge the darn thing. It does have an upgraded Lithium Ion Battery (1300 mAh over the 900 mAh of the older models) for longer lasting fun. And, like most of you, I do wish the T5 had built-in Wi-Fi. Also worth noting, this Palm does NOT have Voice Recording and it has a plastic shell (not metal)!!!!

1 of 5 PalmOne does it again... Monday, October 11, 2004
DW from Mt Laurel NJ
they release a product that needs to be thrown out when the battery needs replacing. The battery lasts for 500 charges. This means if you charge everyday like palm suggests, you will have to throw the T5 out after less than 2 years of use. I for one am tired of palm robbing the public with scams like this. I will NOT buy this product and I suggest you do not support palm and their underhanded practices any longer. They should at the least offer a battery service plan like Mac did w/ the ipod. But palm will surely not do this since it would cost them money and they are by far one of the most money hungry companies out there. The heck with you palm... I will no longer purchase any of you items!!! -DW
