3 of 5 Wanted to like it 1/27/2010
Chris from Connecticut
Coming off a Treo 750, I was thrilled to find a good deal on a new Treo Pro (850). Initial experience was great and it did everything I wished the 750 did - gps, wifi, etc. However within a few days the interface started bogging down and getting sluggish with a couple things open. Then the resets which I had hoped were a thing of the past began becoming required. Multiple resets in a day to do get it back up to speed. In the end I gave up and returned it. Just not worth the trouble. Finally gave in and got an iPhone which my wife had been begging me to get for the last year as she loves hers so much. Have to say I really love it and no regrets. It basically does everything better, a lot better. Almost mind blowing. Sorry Treo. I tried to keep you in the game but you started limping again and I had to pull you out.

5 of 5 Excellent Phone, GET ONE 12/6/2009
AD from Chicago, IL
I always wanted a Palm Phone, but they were not available through T-Mobile. But I saw the Treo for an excellent price and I am very pleased with the speed, synching, and Windows Mobile software. Only concern is the small keys, but I will get used to it.

4.3 of 5 Best of both worlds 8/13/2009
from Austin, TX
A touch screen smartphone with a keyboard is a great I idea. I have used several touch phones, and found than how frequency you need to use the keys. Not just using it to type the url or email, but also when you use automated phone directory system this is when you really need a keyboard.
I am a pretty heavy user and the battery last long enough for my needs.
Some minor issues: it doesn't power off, i.e. shutdown like any other phones.

4.7 of 5 Treo Pro is STABLE! 4/7/2009
from Austin, TX
Finally a Pocket PC that can handle all the program I put on it!
Before this phone I had an HP 910c. It constantly locked up and/or crashed.
Before that I had a Treo 650 and loved it. Now I know I should not have strayed from PALM!

4.3 of 5 Good Windows Mobile Phone 3/26/2009
Shanny from Huntsville, AL
I love the design and the phone does what it's supposed to do. I wish the keys were bigger to that texting and sending email was easier but it's not too bad. The interface is non exciting. There are a lot of bells and whistles for the power user but not anything much for people looking for "fun" features.

5 of 5 Travelers---- 2/9/2009
Tony from New Gloucester, Maine
Travelers,
I have had three Treos and looks like this one may be my fourth with the predecessors all you had to do was hold down the end call button for a few secs and that would shut off the phone functionality .... then all you have is a palm pilot/PDA running which you do not have to shutdown during flight. I hope this helps!

3 of 5 Good and Bad. 11/16/2008
from Portland, OR
I have several WM or smart phones. There is good and bad about this product.
Back panel is very hard to open.
Its very slow sometimes to open application.
The Google maps is not accurate (Is it coz of the carrier that i use or???)
The USB charger is not friendly user.
Soft or hard reset is not convenient, have to open back panel next to the battery.
Expensive for this product.
The Manual is not clear about some stuff.
I like it coz, its small, light and qwerty keyboard.

5 of 5 Almost perfect 10/20/2008
from Austin, TX
I had several WM phones made by HTC. I'm speaking from advanced user's point of view. The Treo Pro, also made by HTC, is almost perfect. I like the keypad a lot much better than those touch phones. I have a 16gb micro sd card installed and it works perfectly. What I don't like about this phone is that the charge cable uses a micro usb plug which is still considered non-standard. And I cannot use just any usb charger/adapter, it has to the one comes with the package or those for motorala's razrs.
Another problem, this device cannot be powered off (although you can turn off the phone feature). For those travels a lot, you'll have to remove the battery before taking off.
The reset button and the sd slot is not accessible from the outside, you have to open the battery cover to access those features.
Overall it's a good phone but just wish it has the standard features like other htc phones.

4.7 of 5 Best Windows Mobile Professional Smartphone! 10/20/2008
from Houston, TX
So far I have no complaints with the Treo Pro. Call quality is excellent. Windows Mobile is very snappy and responsive. You may find some bad reviews out there just as you do for any Windows Mobile device. In most cases the reviewer is not familiar with Windows Mobile and therefor gives a bad review based on their lack of knowledge with the WM OS. I can tell you that after using many WM devices and all versions of WM, the Treo Pro is the best device based on features, looks, and performance of WM that I have owned! If you are looking for a device that is great for phone calls, texting, and email and that can do pretty much anything, the Treo Pro is for you. Price could be a little lower, but I think it is on par with other unlocked devices out there...

4.7 of 5 Missing some usual functions 10/3/2008
from Austin, TX
I used many smartphones before I think the Treo Pro is one of the best. I'm not going to talk about the good things because you can read good things about this device from other source
I found 3 major issues about this device.
1. none standard usb plug; that means I cannot just borrow a usb cable if I forget to bring it with me.
2. the soft reset button is underneath the battery cover; this is very annoying before when the device hangs (it will), I have to open the battery cover; so inconvenient.
3. Worst of all. It cannot be powered off except by removing the battery. You can only turn off the phone feature, the device is still on. I've never used any phone that cannot be turned off. Now, every time I fly, I have to remove the phone battery before take-off.
