Say hello to the Palm® Treo™ 680 smartphone. It's your phone along with email, messaging, and web access. Not to mention your contacts, calendar, photos, and songs. Sounds like a lot. And it is. But everything's so easy to learn that you'll actually use it, which makes it anything but a typical phone.
The same goes for design. Pick it up and you'll notice a large color touchscreen and an easy-type keyboard. Since the Treo 680 is just the right size, you have the freedom to take it anywhere and still be connected to friends, work, and family4. Of course, there's also something called an "off" button, for when you don't want to be connected at all.

| | Tech Reviews | | Palm Treo 680 First Thoughts Review Brighthand.com Published on: 10/13/2006 10:20 PM | | Before we get too deep into this though, I feel it important to make sure our readers understand the target audience for this product. Already I've seen writers on other sites, both mainstream media and PDA enthusiast, and participants in our forums, bashing Palm for a boring product release that does nothing, of much substance, new....read the full review |
 | Palm Treo 680 Review Brighthand.com Published on: 12/21/2006 9:37 PM | | I have had the Palm Treo 680 for some time now. And while my initial impressions were positive and reserved, I can honestly say that after longer use I am still very impressed with this smartphone as a package, but not necessarily because of some of its parts. I still recommend the 680 as a gift for the upwardly mobile in your household. The software and hardware (minus the issues with the battery) work very well together. And the learning curve of getting started is about as simple as pen and paper....read the full review |

4 of 5 Nice smartphone, but limited reception Sunday, August 10, 2008 A Customer from Texas
This smartphone is a nice integration of PDA and phone. The built-in applications run well. Mobile Google Maps even works relatively quickly.
BUT...
1. the reception could be better. I'll drop calls with the 680 when my cheapo Motorola phone works fine.
2. it is a power hog, esp. if you have overdue reminders. There should be a way to turn the entire unit off, not just the phone portion.

2 of 2 customers found this review helpful. 4 of 5 step up from treo 650 Thursday, February 08, 2007 richard from nyc
i feel this is a good upgrade up from the 650, the internal ram to 64mb helps a lot, web browsing is faster, button placement is a little different than the 650 so takes a little bit to get used to. the battery life isn't great and you need to apply the Palm patch update so the battery won't drain. otherwise it's just as great as the 650! i view this purchase as a small upgrade, not a huge change. so it might not be worth your money if you have a 650 already.
