    5 of 5 Kill-A-Watt Shows All Wednesday, April 29, 2009
A Customer from Battle Creek, MI

If you want to know where your power is going then this will tell you. Day to day use of electrical devices should be monitored. This device helps you spot the real power hungry items in your home. You may be surprised just how much your computer is using or how little the battery powered phones. Just set in your cost and it will give you a close account of your electrical budget.

5 of 5 Does What It Says Tuesday, April 28, 2009
    Bill from Carlisle, PA
Checked a few things for power usage. Now, guess have to buy a new "deep freeze" to replace 25yr unit. Never thought I was making payments to electric company until meter broke-out the costs. note: As far as KW per hour computation, just took electric bill and divided by KW's used. Don't know how anyone could compute what KW charge "truly" is any other way.

5 of 5 great little tool Monday, April 27, 2009
steve B. from ft. lauderdale, Florida
This is a great little device. Plug any appliance into this baby and you get immediate feedback on electrical usage and cost. Very simple to use. Find out what it costs to run that computer all night. How much does your tv cost you sitting there turned off. I love it.

    3 of 5 1st 2 units defective Monday, April 27, 2009
    A Customer from Underhill, Vt
After 2 days, the unit began telling me my house was running 160 volts. After paying s/h to return it, I was promptly sent another unit. However, this unit will not allow me to set the kw rate! It is also scuffed up. Not impressed. I returned them a brand new unit in exchange for a disfunctional and scuffed up replacement. Still waiting for response on my last email for resolution on the defective replacement they sent me. Otherwise, the device does as indicated, and looks like fun. I'll know for sure once I have a functional unit for more than 2 days.

5 of 5 Works like it says Saturday, April 25, 2009
    JR from Eagle, WI
I've wanted one of these for a while but it wasn't until Buy.com offered it at a bargain price that I took the plunge. It does all the things it says it will which is possibly more than any of us need. I like the form factor - it's compact with no wires dangling. The complete user manual can be download from the manufacturer's site prior to purchase if you want to know if you can work it or not. Anyone who can navigate through setting a digital watch can operate this.

    5 of 5 Interesting product Friday, April 24, 2009
    hot6ft2 from Albertville, AL
Very informational. Makes it real easy to figure out what everything is costing to be plugged in. I was fun finding out what things were still costing even when off and which ones weren't. Only thing it lacks is the backlight for the display so I took 1 off for that missing feature.

    3 of 5 Needs Backlight Thursday, April 23, 2009
    Chris from Crown Point, IN
The biggest gripe I have about this thing is that it doesn't have a backlit screen, which makes it VERY hard to read since the outlets where stuff is plugged in are often in shady areas. The interface is hard to read even in good light - there are essentially two menus, one of which is only accessible if you have a particular option selected on the first. The icons that tell you what you're looking at (current, voltage, etc) are tiny and hard to see, especially at bad angles or in dark conditions. Definitely read the instruction manual - you're lost without it. Another thing I didn't consider is that obviously you can only meter things that are plugged into an accessible standard outlet - not lighting, recessed appliances, major appliances, etc.

    4 of 5 Nice product ! Thursday, April 23, 2009
    Ramiro from Coconut Creek, FL
It's a very good product. It does everything as it is descibed. The only think I don't like is that it has to be pluged in in order to be able to read the values. Sometimes you need to pluged in on places that are not easy accesibles, so the "solution" provided to this is: unpluged from the testing appliance and pluged in somewhere you can read the values (values are mantained through an internal battery, but you cannot read them unplugged though). Maybe a good idea for the next version is to have some kind of wireless screen where you can read the values while the main tester is in a hard to reach position.

5 of 5 does what it says, easy to use Thursday, April 23, 2009
    A Customer from Binghamton, NY
This product was easy to set up (after you figure out what your electric rate is). just plug something in and let it run for a few days. The only minor issue is that most plugs are in a location that makes it hard to read the display and the unit must be plugged in to read and toggle through the display.

4 of 5 Lots of Options Thursday, April 23, 2009
    Mike from Chicago, IL
Pros: Lot of options to display information: Cost per year, month, week, or day, Volts, Amps, Watts, kW-hrs, etc. Cons: If plugged into a wall outlet, the body blocks the second outlet.

5 of 5 Where do the batteries go? Sunday, April 12, 2009
    KoiKeeper from Ny, Ny
Pros: This is a great little meter with self contained battery and eprom inside, it works well. I recommend it to find true electric load on all your appliances and gear. It calculates cost too. Cons: This model is a bit pricey and you will probably need to actually read the instructions to get it up and running on all cylinders.

    5 of 5 Awesome & Fun to use! Thursday, April 09, 2009
    Angela from Haysville, KS
This a great product, a blast to use and a fun way to learn how to save money! I was shocked by how cheap I got bought this, I definently would recommend this product. The really nice thing that I liked about using this product, was the fact that I could plug an entire power strip into the unit and find out how much total watts the power strip is using all together. Thank you Buy.com for making awesome products, affordable :D

    4 of 5 Good Product Saturday, March 28, 2009
    Ron from Central Illinois
Pros: this version has the battery backup to store settings when power is removed. Cons: doesn't record peak draw for items that startup a motor ; up button didn't work, i have to scroll through all options with the down button (real bummer when u are pushing too fast and miss it by one).

    4 of 5 money saver? Saturday, March 07, 2009
    A Customer from Hebron, KY
Works as advertised. Sometimes it is hard to see the display when plugged into the wall but you can always use an extension cord or power strip. I found that all my computer power supplies were relatively inefficient at around only 60 to 65%. I don't think it would pay though to replace them with newer active PFC units. Surprised that even older TVs used relatively little power when on and almost nothing when off. Still looking for that big power saver where I can say it paid for itself. Maybe something only a geek would love but I still find it interesting.

5 of 5 Great Little Gadget Friday, March 06, 2009
    Sam from Monroe, La
This is a great little gadget that can open your eyes to some energy sapping devices, even when they are turned off. I agree with some of the other reviewers that the display is a little hard to read at times. It's just too faint. This model calculates the charges for you. A cheaper model only gives the KWH and you are forced to compute the charges yourself. Buy this one.

    5 of 5 P3 P4460 Kill a watt meter Thursday, March 05, 2009

Amazing device to tell you how much your appliances are costing you. Fairly easy to use. Display a little tough to read unless you are right in front of it with a light.

    5 of 5 handy gadget Tuesday, March 03, 2009
    A Customer from Katy, TX
Comes well packaged with easy to follow directions. Read outs could be a bit larger, old eyes will need glasses. Electric company charging three times as much for same features. Will tell you where your electric waste is, and for me is useful for electric billing for life support equipment for tax write off.

5 of 5 Easy to use and has paid fir itself already Monday, December 08, 2008
    Mike D from Alpharett. Georgia
Our bad freezer compressor that was stealing over $4 a day plus a few electronic gadgets that were plugged in and were stealing electricity were all detected by the Kill-a Watt. get one!! I learned about this in Sweden were people are super efficient and fanatics about energy conservation. Don't fool yourself; saving energy is cool, and a duty whether you believe in god, the devil, fire, or a tree and even if you listen to Rush the drug addict Limbaugh, coward Hannity, or oil company's water boy, Neal Bortz.

5 of 5 Use less electricty with the P4460 Kill A Watt EZ Friday, December 05, 2008
    Justin Wizard from Chloe WV
I like to know how much juice each appliance is using. This unit also tells you in dollars and cents what it would be per day, week and month. I was wanting to cut thepower bill in my greenhouse and each time I did something I could see the results. Now my 12x54 greenhouse stays warm (when it's 18 degrees outside) for about 20c a day. A great product, excellent price. Read how I did it at: www.tryallgreen.com

5 of 5 Exceptional Power Meter at Exceptional Price Monday, December 01, 2008
    A Customer from Pleasanton, Ca
What an outstanding value. This product performs tons of functions at a very, very low price. I was amazed at the functionality and ease of use. I highly recommend this product for energy managers at work, or for anyone interested in conserving energy at home. I was curious about the energy consumed by the typical PC at work and was very surprised at how much energy computers and monitors use when on, and when in standby. My 19 inch flat panel, 2 PC's, and laser printer consume about 180 watts continuous, and If I print something that jumps up to about 600 watts.

    5 of 5 GREAT!! Friday, November 28, 2008
    Jim from Fergus Falls, Mn
it is very accurate and easy to use. the only MINOR complaint is that it is physically large, for outdoor outlets you need to use an extension cord to plug into the outlet.

5 of 5 Best Product of Its Kind Monday, January 07, 2008
    A Customer from Naperville, IL
I have to agree with other reviews on the web: This a great product that helps in determining actual (comparitive) costs of similar items - e.g., LED vs CF vs Standard lights. One small nit is that it could use a back light.
