| | Professional Reviews | Los Angeles Times "...There's a snap and knowingness to OUT FOR JUSTICE..." 04/16/1991 p.F5Variety 7 of 10 Out for Justice harbors an incredibly simple vengeance plot loaded with enough macho sadism to satiate the action genre's bloodthirsty fans...This time Steven Seagal plays an Italian cop pursuing the killer of his partner, who's gunned down in broad daylight just after the opening credits. Seagal relentlessly pursues the murderous, drugged-out Richie (William Forsythe), dispatching his henchmen in brutal encounters in a butcher shop, pool hall and his own apartment that make the LAPD's brutality seem tame...Director John Flynn does a fair job of keeping the minimal storyline crawling along well enough to justify all the mayhem. Too bad the climactic confrontation doesn't justify the build-up. Stuntwork, however, is first rate, and Seagal remains a convincing action figure.
