5 of 5 Great for the price Thursday, November 20, 2008 A Customer from Salem, VA
I purchased these headphones to use when flying - but have only used them at home. They work extremely well!! Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Just Okay Tuesday, November 04, 2008 Fred Kellers from Franklin, TN
The first set I got had to be returned. It didn't cancel any noise. The second set works okay. The price was so good that I can't really complain but I can't say I'm competely thrilled either. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Works very well for the price Thursday, October 23, 2008 A Customer from Alexandria, VA
OK, let's face it, you CANNOT beat this price for noise canceling headphones! And they work, too, that's the best part (I was a little skeptical at first ;] ).
Noise cancellation: I've tried them out on several flights now and the active cancellation really cuts down on the low-frequency drones during a flight. The higher frequencies stay pretty much unaffected except for the muffling from the cans themselves which cover your whole ear. The upside to this is that you can still understand the stewardess when she asks you what you'd like to drink. The downside is you also still hear your seat-neighbors incessantly chatting with one another. I'll leave it to you to judge the relative merits. ;]
Battery life so far seems good. I've stuck an alkaline in it for now and have used them for about 8 hours total over a period of a month and they're still going strong.
Sound quality is not up to the level of a set of high-end cans, but again, remember you actually get working active noise cancelation for this price (can you tell I'm excited about that?)... ;] Sound comes out a little flat and is frankly better suited to movies (which is the majority of what I used them for with my PVP) than music. Basses are reasonable but not shattering while the highs fall a little flat.
Fit is comfortable, even for eyeglass wearers (which I am). I've used them for several hours at a stretch and never had issues.
Design is not the coolest, but remember: you get what you pay for, which is the working noise cancelation! ;] Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Good quality-Excellent price Thursday, October 16, 2008 A Customer from Boston,MA
Very comfortable headphones wih excellent sound quality. I use them in my cube to rid white noise , humming fans etc. It does a great job of that while muffling voices. In the cube it is just what I wanted. The noise cancelling, when turned on, enhances the music and I am very pleased with sound quality.
The headphones are comfortable and that is a plus.
They do not fold at all (that I can see) but that is all-right as I keep them at work.
I have not had a problem with batteries as I turn them off when not in use.
All in all, for $19.00 it was a good deal... Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 Don't do much of anything??? Sunday, October 12, 2008 Matt from Lexington, KY
I just purchased these Otto Noise Cancelers to use at work, they are less effective than just putting in a pair of cheap earplugs, they muffle sounds only a bit, I can clearly hear coworker conversations from all the way across the room about 30 feet with just the ANR (noise reduction) switch turned on. With no audio playing it makes a mild hissing noise in your ears but doesn't really block any sound. While listening to audio the sound is drastically sub par to a pair of Sony ones I got for around $20. I couldn't imagine paying $70 for these, I will be returning them although I paid $20. 5 of 5 Great quality for the price Sunday, October 12, 2008 A Customer from Ypsilanti, MI
Audio quality is comparable to the best brands' products in this range. They make a great upgrade from standard definition headphones. Noise-cancellation is good, though the battery life is short. Was this review helpful?
3 of 5 Cuts Background Noise but Low Volume. Saturday, October 11, 2008 Demitrius from Irvine CA
These work well enough at reducing background noise, especially on an airplane, but they require you to turn up the volume a lot higher than with regular headphones even with the noise reduction turned off. Consequently, they run your device battery down quicker than with other headphones. I also own a JVC HA-NC100 and its volume is much higher. I don't need to blast the music, but I do need it to be audible. These OTO OT5s would not be my first choice even if I had to pay twice as much. Live and learn. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excellent Buy Saturday, October 11, 2008 dlhiggy from Springville, Utah
Pros: Low, low price. Good quality sound with or without noise reduction. Comfortable to wear. Well constructed. Good bass response.
Cons: A little lacking in the highs.
A great bargain for the money. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Hard to beat for the price Saturday, October 11, 2008 joepark1 from Monrovia, Ca.
Its a fair price for this product. N/C works but slight hiss in the back ground. I also found a small piece of solder in one of the ear cups that was rolling around loose inside. The overall sound quality is better than most headsets I've used. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Good Value Saturday, October 11, 2008 rsims from San Antonio, TX
Headphones work well. Have not traveled with them yet, so don't know how well the NC feature works in an airliner. Disappointed the earphones don't fold as depicted in the picture. Was this review helpful?
2 of 5 Not too impressive Saturday, October 11, 2008 Scott from Hilton Head, SC
I have never used noise canceling headphones before so I was looking forward to receiving my order. My main reason for purchasing the OT-5 was for listening to my MP3 player on aircraft and I must admit, I haven’t tried them in a high noise environment yet. I did try them in my office with normal office noise (air conditioner, computer fans, etc.) The “white” noise from the OT-5 was actually louder when the headphones were on than the ambient noise. Additionally, the headphones are not very comfortable. At higher volume levels, the OT-5 sounder better, but I would have liked to use them in my office. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Awesomeness Saturday, October 11, 2008 Poopelyse from marietta, GA
These headphones are awesome. The sound quality is really really good. The noise canceling dealio is really good too. It renders the very bass-oriented songs really well. They don't fold completely flat but it does come with a nice bag. And for $20, its just even more amazing. The bottom line: Great Product and Great Value. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 These are the headphones you want! Saturday, October 11, 2008 A Customer from Pawleys Island, SC
These headphones were an outstanding deal and I have been using them daily for the past month. While I wish they had batteries that automatically recharge, 2 AAA's last over a week with a lot of use.
For the price, this deal cannot be beat. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Good product Saturday, October 11, 2008 sferias from Princeton NJ
I would recommend. Its a little bulkier that I thought it would be, but the audio quality is very good. Its very noticeable when I turn it off during my daily train ride versus having it on. Was this review helpful?

Great product works wonderful, I would have paid 10 times the price! Men who see me wearing this headset want to be me and the women want to be with me. Most people say this headset is my best feature. Was this review helpful?

Noise cancellation is quite effective. Audio output quality is very high.
It is not completely foldable though, but I will say it is value for money. Was this review helpful?
3 of 5 Do they really fold flat? Sunday, September 28, 2008 A Customer from Louisville, CO
They don't readily appear to fold in the picture for me - feels like it would break if I twisted it further that way. Anyone found that they will do that? Was this review helpful?
