As the friends and family of the challenged, the supporting cast shows plenty of the expected love, support, and well-meaning anxiety, but also some refreshingly realistic impatience, frustration, and embarrassment.

The scenes between Carla and Danny are pulled off with skill; the characters are sweet and remain just this side of mawkish. Even their slow and tentative discovery of sex, which could have been an embarrassing mess, is handled with humor and delicacy. I think this movie is very funny yet touching. The actors have everything down as playing the mentally challenged people. Its even better if you know someone mentally dissabled because you know that people actually do go through things like this and its hard.
