| | Tech Reviews | | Olympus Stylus 770 SW Digital Camera Review DigitalCameraReview.com Published on: 2/27/2007 5:14 PM | | The Olympus Stylus line has always been the go to camera for weatherproof cameras - cameras that are water resistant and dustproof. Over the last couple of years, they've also had at least one shockproof and fully waterproof camera in the Stylus line. The Olympus Stylus 770 SW is the latest camera to be fully waterproof. The Stylus 770 SW is a 7.1 megapixel camera with 2.5 inch LCD and 3x optical zoom. It is also waterproof to 33 feet, shockproof against 5 foot drops, cold proof to 14 degrees Fahrenheit and crushproof to 220 pounds....read the full review |
 | Olympus Stylus 770SW Review By: tech.co.uk staff - techradar.com Reviews Published on: 4/11/2007 10:20 AM | | Ultimately, the 770SW is less about pure photography and more about capturing experiences and activities where most other cameras fear to tread. Not only is it as tough as it claims to be, but it's light, easy to use, responsive and delivers decent, well-exposed images that would shame many a weaker snapper....read the full review |
 | Olympus Stylus 770SW Camera Review DigitalCameraInfo.com Published on: 5/28/2007 10:00 AM | | The Olympus Stylus 770SW is the Incredible Hulk of digital cameras. It can be dunked in water to depths of 33 ft, crushed with a weight up to 220 lbs, dropped from a height of up to 5 ft, and frozen to 14 degrees Fahrenheit. Sure, you can do that to other cameras too, but the 770SW differs from them because it will still function....read the full review |

4 of 5 Great reliabable camera with minor compromise in p Saturday, February 09, 2008 Not so careful from Boston, MA
I bought this camera because the picture quality is acceptable and it works in any condition.. regardless of how rough I am with it. I try to be careful but I drop my things every once in a while and this camera still work after I dropped it twice. It also work under water. I used to have a Canon and I must say that I took better pictures with my old camera, especially under dimlight condition (sun set, sun rise, etc.).. so I missed it.. but hey, now I have a camera that works through the trip and beyond..... It's more important to me to have good pictures through out the trip than spectacular pictures at the beginning of the trip... So, if you are looking for a camera that can capture moments of your travel, this camera is for you.. If you have never dropped anything, then you are better off getting a cheaper model of Canon or Sony.. you will take better pictures with them. Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 Dead in the water Sunday, September 02, 2007 A Customer from NP, NJ
First trip out could not handle a tame vacation in a Mexican resort. Water entered the lens. Dried out the first time, so I gave it another chance on a second vacation. This time it lasted 3 days, then kaput. Lens had water, when I took the battery out, that had water too.
Buyer beware, Olympus needs to work on this one. Camera went thru 2 swimming vacations, and that's all she wrote. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Everything I hoped for. Friday, June 22, 2007 foxhondarider14 from Grand Rapids, MI
I basically bought this camera because I needed one that I wasn't going to break because it was always in my pocket (the fate of my last camera). This definitely does the job. I carry it with me now everyday in my back pocket, and because it's crush proof and slim, I just sit on it. I love the peace of mind that it is virtually indestructable. I took some underwater pictures as well and they came out clear and they were at night even. I love the size, the picture quality is great, and the construction is truly rugged. The only thing I don't like is if it is set to program auto shooting mode, the delay before the picture takes can be a couple seconds and you will miss the shot. But that is what the shooting modes are for you just have to make sure your in the right one ahead of time. Going back to shooting mode from the quick preview screen is not the easiest either (as much as I've figured out so far). But overall it's great. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 You will not believe your EYES Thursday, June 21, 2007 Bill Richardson from New York, NY.
This is the best digital camera I have ever owned. I took it on a 5 day float on the Smith River in Montana. It shot fantastic landscape and portrait shots. And underwater video of fish being released. Be sure to buy an extra battery. It is very long life but I took 178 pictures and 9 short video on our trip. The videos are very easy to shoot but use lots of battery and memory. The price I got from Buy.com was $90 cheaper than all the bigtime camera shops in NYC. Grab one and dare it not to work anywhere outdoors. You will lose.

1 of 5 Poorer performance than a three year old Sony Monday, June 18, 2007 goettlf from Cinton Twp. MI
Very unhappy, wish I had never bought this camera or any Olympus product for that mater. The pictures are not as good as my daughter's three year old Sony...Night pictures are really bad. Manual is poorly written. Movie quality is terrible, can hardly make them out even when I know what it’s supposed to be. Nicest thing I can say about this camera is the buttons are hard to press. 5 of 5 VERY GOOD CAMERA ALL IN ONE Wednesday, June 13, 2007 JANGULO from LAREDO, TEXAS
PERFECT CAMERA FOR UNDERWATER PICTURES, NO NEED TO BUY EXTRA CASE. VERY GOOD DEAL FOR AN ALL IN ONE CAMERA. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Great camera for the unique features. Tuesday, June 12, 2007 A Customer from Lodi, NJ
After comparing the shots taken by this camera at various settings against my current Canon S400, I admit that the Olympus does not match up in quality. But the waterproof capabilities outweight the slight differences in quality since we were hoping to get a camera that we can take anywhere without having to treat it like a crystal vase.
