Olevia 747i - 47" LCD 1080p HDTV - 1600:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio

I did not actually buy this TV (though I did buy the 37"), but was looking to get a 2nd, so I came to Buy and seen what they had for Olevia. I was looking for the 55", but the biggest they had was the 47". I almost purchased it until I checked out NewEgg and to my surprise they had the 55" for $1,299, $200 LESS THAN THIS SMALLER TV! In short, I just wanted to give anyone looking to buy this TV a heads up that you can go bigger for less.

I bought this tv in early February after doing a lot of research. In A/V mags,websites,etc. First,I choose LCD over Plasma,a personal choice. Then I found the OLEVIA 747i. It was great right out of the box. I did a few minor tweaks in the menus,and now my picture is GREAT!. HDTV is really 3-D like. BLU-RAY movies with a BLU-RAY player is out if this world!! And watching regular DVD's with my $90.00 Sony DVD player that up-converts to 1080p is amazing. Plasma vs LCD is nothing but symantics. The picture is nice and bright. The black levels are really black. And more than black enough for this Videophile. The color is excellent. My only peeve is the menu system. When you select something to be "ON",it highlights as red. And "OFF" is green. WTF? Outside of that, buy this TV!

I must say the set is great till you need service The company is the worst. you cannot even get a Tv reparir person to fix them for the parts are no where to be found. I have 7 Oleiva's and would not buy another after the customer service 2 broke and no one can fix them. i asked the company for a service center and they dont have one. They only exchange or replace with older units and reboxed Beware this great price when your set goes DOA For the money you can get a Sony or others Go with the good guys Sony or Samsung have better service and thats a plus the sony Bravia KL46w3000 is a better set as well If you think i am lying call Olevia and ask them for a local service center or repair place or best yet call a Tv repair place and ask about fixing them. Not one good thing was said by the repair men BEWARE THE BEAST

This is a top-end performer with very aggressive pricing. Excellent picture, amazing built-in audio, versatile connections, and a PIP variety that will thrill those who are interested. The menu system isn't all that intuitive, but it is worth the mild learning curve.

After 6 months of hard core research, this is the one the best suited my needs. Ridiculous HD, 1080P native, and the best SD that an LCD can do at 47". Also the HQV processor is top of the line. Real speakers with quality sound and all the hookups you could need (2 component, 2 composite, 2 svid, vga, 2 hdmi)
