5 of 5 OCZ ATV 16GB USB Flash Drive - Very Nice Tuesday, August 19, 2008

I learned the hard way that 'bargain' flash drives which don't include their transfer speeds in published specs tend to transfer data closer to USB 1 speed - even though they claim to be "Blindingly Fast" and "USB 2.0 Compatable". So when the OCV 16GB drive sale price dropped into the reasonable range, I was happy to see that the advertised transfer speeds were right up with the best. Now that I've been able to test, the speed seems to be slightly less than what they quoted, a shade less than my 8Gb cruzer countour, but it's still very fast and speed really does make a big difference when you're moving Gigabytes. 16Gb capacity, 15Mb/sec write and 35Mb/sec read speed in an easy to use, install, and carry package with a lifetime warranty are a winner. And for those who care, the thing is even waterproof! Was this review helpful?
