Contains the Eddie Murphy comedy classics in THE NUTTY PROFESSOR and THE NUTTY PROFESSOR II: THE KLUMPS.

THE NUTTY PROFESSOR: Eddie Murphy gives the "performances" of his career playing no less than seven roles in this uproarious, Jekyll-and-Hyde comedy. Murphy stars as Dr. Sherman Klump, a kind "calorically challenged" genetics professor who longs to shed his 400-pound frame in order to win the heart of beautiful Jada Pinkett. So, with one swig of his experimental fat-reducing serum, Sherman becomes "Buddy Love", a fast-talking, pumped up, plumped-down Don Juan. Can Sherman stop his buff alter ego before it's too late, or will Buddy have the last laugh? Boasting incredible secial effcts, a super soundtrack, and co-starring James Coburn, Larry Miller, Dave Chappelle and John Ales, this hilarious hit is worth its weight in fun!

THE NUTTY PROFESSOR II: THE KLUMPS: No one realized while making the first The Nutty Professor that the Klump family would resonate so well with audiences. In fact, they very nearly didn't make the film. Producer Brian Grazer recalls, "The Klump characters are very expensive to execute because the make-up process takes so much time--limitations are then imposed on the amount of work that can be done in one day. So, in the first movie we had to audition the Klumps for the studio to show just how funny and convincing these characters could be." Having always felt that the first film only hinted at what could be done with the Klump characters, Eddie Murphy agreed, "This movie isn't about an unhappy Sherman Klump trying to find love and accept his appearance like the first film. Sherman's met his true love, and while he's still the central character, his family is no longer peripheral. They're really a part of the story with big meaty roles." The hilarity begins when Professor Sherman Klump (Murphy) finds romance with fellow DNA specialist Denise Gaines (Janet Jackson), and discovers a brilliant formula that reverses aging. But Sherman's thin and obnoxious alter ego, Buddy Love, gets out... and a big piece of the action. And when Buddy gets loose, things get seriously nutty. Now it's up to Mama, Papa, Ernie and Granny Klump to throw their weight around and save the day!

"[Professor] Spectacularly funny! Two thumbs up."  Gene Siskel, Siskel & Ebert
"[Klumps] Hilarious. Dazzling comic virtuosity."  Washington Post

Editor's Note

THE NUTTY PROFESSOR: Eddie Murphy stars as a grossly overweight chemistry professor in this update of the classic 1963 Jerry Lewis comedy. Eager to reinvent himself and to ease his loneliness, the professor develops a potion that magically transforms him into a lean, mean, sex machine, capable of seducing any woman in sight, but he loses his niceness along the way. Academy Award Nomination: Best Makeup.

THE NUTTY PROFESSOR II: Everything is coming up roses for Professor Sherman Klump (Eddie Murphy). His fiancée, the equally brilliant Denise Gaines (pop music star Janet Jackson), loves him for his prodigious mind. Sherman's university has just been offered $150 million for the radical new youth serum Sherman has developed. And the big-eating, trash-talking Klump clan (all played by Murphy) couldn't be happier. The only person who can ruin things now is Sherman's nemesis: his id-like alter ego, the smooth-talking, flashy dressing Buddy Love (also played by Murphy). In an attempt to destroy Buddy once and for all, Sherman manages to locate and extract the DNA strand that represents the last remaining trace of his own private Mr. Hyde. But the gene accidentally mutates with a strand of dog hair, giving birth to a brave new Buddy who sniffs out the Klumps. With the help of Academy Award-winning makeup wizard Rick Baker, Murphy magically disappears into multiple roles for uproarious results. NUTTY PROFESSOR II is a hilarious sequel to the 1996 remake.

Professional Reviews
The New York Times 9 of 10
[Klumps] ... the first Professor was a big hit. And this one will be, too... It is in his depictions of the Klumps that Mr. Murphy exhibits perceptiveness and depth. He doesn't condescend to any of the people for an instant, and his affection for the characters--the kind of people he might have made fun of as a younger man--is contagious. They're funny because he has so thoroughly worked out the deportment, which is what makes them real. - Elvis Mitchell

The New York Times 7 of 10
[Professor] Murphy proves himself a surprisingly strong actor here, playing Sherman with sweetness and poignancy, not to mentionloads of funny weight-related humor... Ms. Pinkett is poised and appealing... - Janet Maslin

Chicago Sun-Times 8 of 10
[Professor] [Murphy is] back with exuberance and energy... He's very good. And the movie succeeds in two different ways: It's sweet and good-hearted, and then again it's raucous slapstick and bathroom humor. I liked both parts. - Roger Ebert
