4 of 5 Better and Better Thursday, January 03, 2008 Evermorian from Phoenix, AZ
I have been using PaperPort software for over a decade. I waited quite some time to upgrade, though. So, this release is a big jump forward for me. It is just as easy to use as the earlier versions and, uses a standard PDF format for storage (older versions used a proprietary format). Unfortunately, they are still very concerned about unlicensed use of the software. So, it phones home regularly and, has to be reactivated periodically. PaperPort also used to make small scanners that could sit between your monitor and keyboard to quickly digitize all the paper scraps in your office environment. Though they don't seem to make those anymore, NeatReceipts has a small scanner that works great with the PaperPort software. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Good scanning software Saturday, November 11, 2006 David from New York, NY
Paperport is very good scanning software. Not the easiest to use, but it is functional. The OCR is pretty good, but I don't use it much. I mostly use it to scan in articles, magazine pictures, etc that I want to keep, so I can throw away the paper. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Paperport Still One of the Best Tuesday, October 31, 2006 A Customer from Baton Rouge, LA
Again, Buy.com comes thru with flyin' colors. For the price and delivery time, can't beat it! Paperport is still on of the best. I've upgraded twice now and find it to be a good product. Easy to organize you scanned docs. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Better Than Version 9, But Still needs So Work Thursday, October 26, 2006 BLAINE A WHITE, Esquire from Baltimore, MD
PaperPort 11 is a clear step up from version 9, however, in my opinion, there are still some issues that need to be improved upon. PaperPort 11 loads faster and populates more quickly than version 9, nonetheless, this process is still too slow. Additionally, there is confusing language coupled with a complicated process to facilitate the recognition and paring of ones scanner. Moreover, once the scanner is active the actual scanning process is slow and data transfer to the chosen format even slower. Character recognition is far superior to version 9 and keeps editing to a minimum. Therefore, I am pleased with the product overall, but I trust that ScanSoft will positively address the issues that I have raised. Was this review helpful?
