5 of 5 Great Value!!! Solid Camera! Wednesday, April 30, 2008
    A Customer from Alameda, CA

I had a very nice Canon stolen about a year ago and was looking for a cheap replacement to fill in the gap till I buy another top of the line model. This fits that bill to a "t". Pros: Great value, Good pictures, Tons of features, Intuitive controls and easy to understand manual (read it!), Great design, Quick Charging Battery. Cons: Very poor flash - It takes great outdoor pictures with the flash off but the "auto" settings indoors or in low light are not good. Turning off the flash helps but in most cases you get very dark pictures indoors or at night, even with the flash on. If you plan on using this camera in those situations, learn to use the manual settings or you will not be happy with the pictures. Comments: I thought buying an SD card was a given! Some of you need to think for 2 secons before you post. One quirk of this camera, when you are viewing pictures, they will be preloaded in a lower (aka, blurry) resolution initially and then click into focus after about a second or two. Do not judge your pictures by how they initially look when you take them!

    5 of 5 great deal Wednesday, April 23, 2008
    Tony from nyc
So far so good. I purchased this camera with a 4GB SDHC ($20). Excellent value. With 4GB of memory I'm taking pictures of everything all the time. I haven't figured out how to play back videos on my pc. I'm pretty sure it's not brain surgery. I'm buying another camera and card for a friend today. He offered me $120. I had a fear of taking the $ and the camera was no longer available at buy.com. I'll keep playing with the camera. I have been looking at digital cameras for about a month. I probably had 5 cameras in my basket, but I couldn't pull the trigger on any of them til I saw this deal.

5 of 5 Great camera especially for a teen! Tuesday, April 22, 2008
    Peggy from San Diego, CA
I got this camera for my 8th grader's trip to Washington DC. It came with a case, rechargable battery and a battery charger. We did not need to carry or purchase a bunch of AA batteries. It also came with software and all the cables, etc to download the photos. I immediatly bought a very large capacity SD card on-line for $7 total. My child took hundreds of photos on the trip with no trouble at all. It is pretty small and rather light weight so it was not difficult to carry it all day. We are very happy with this camera.

4 of 5 Great deal for a steady hand! Wednesday, March 26, 2008
    Travis from Columbus, NE
Pros: Pretty nice loooking, like the mirrored finish. Easy operator interface. Great value. Cons: Rechargeable battery instead of regular AA's. Have to buy separate memory card. Need a steady hand or pictures come out blurry. Auto-Flash needs some improvement as far as light-sensing.

very good camera for the money. the only thing i dont care for much is that it doesnt take standard aa batteries it has the battery pack that it comes with. other than that its great! but you will need a memory card but you would have to buy one with any camera. i bought a 2 gb card and it holds 800+ pics set on 8.0 mp.

    4 of 5 About what I expected Tuesday, March 18, 2008
    Jon from Reno, NV
When I saw this, I could only think: "An 8 megapixel camera for under $100? What's the catch?" Well, here's the catch(es). 1. An SD card (sold separately) is absolutely required. This camera ships with a memory that will hold two (2) 8-megapixel pictures. Then you have to erase them off the camera and start over. Obviously, I can't even use the video settings out of the box - so I can't vouch for how they're going to look. 2. Some of the settings are a little weird. When I first started using it, I immediately noticed that my pictures were too dark. The way to fix that, strangely, was to *disable* the flash. There was plenty of light in the room, but the camera somehow couldn't figure that out. 3. It requires a ludicrously steady hand. I set this thing on a filing cabinet and pressed the shutter button, and it set off the "Whoa, you're shaking me, it's gonna be blurry" alarm. And the picture was indeed a little bit blurry. I mean, it looked pretty good, don't get me wrong, but I didn't get the expected 8 megapixels worth of sharpness. You're probably going to need a tripod to get the most out of this. Still, those disappointments aside - it's still an incredible value for the cost.

5 of 5 Incredible Value and Quality Tuesday, March 18, 2008
    Drewmb from Rochelle, Illinois
I was slow about purchasing an 8 mg pixel camera that only cost $80. I was concerned that the camera would function but that the lens would be cheap and therefore take lackluster or downright soft photos. What a surprise when I opened the box to find the lens was made by Pentax. The camera is a BEAUTIFUL metallic finish. The software is intuitive and the photos are definitely 8 mg quality. Quite astounding actually. I am so impressed that I kept wondering who I could buy one for as a gift.

    4 of 5 A Good Camera for $30.00 Monday, March 17, 2008
    Kevin from Raleigh, NC
I bought this camera and signed up for the Revolution card through Buy.com, and I ended up net paying $30.00 with shipping for the camera. I have to say that the price was absolutely outstanding. The camera itself I find to be a bit slippery, so be sure to use the camera strap. Now about the SD card slot- As it says in the manual and on the webpage description, the camera takes an "SD" card, not an "SDHC" card. SAince the SD spec max is 4gb, that is the limit of the camera, although the tech support person said you could put up to a 8gb SD card in it. Problem is, non exist. So take this with a grain of salt. Official word is that "SDHC" is not supported. Oh yeah, the battery is proprietary when I asked the tech support person (at 909-305-2121 btw). You can buy extra batteries from them directly for $20.00 each and you must send payment first. Sounds a bit hokey if you ask me. Also hokey is that the website (www.norcent.com) does not have any information listed on this hot selling product. Caveat Emptor.

"There's no part number" says the CS tech just ask for it by camera model. P/N on battery says VG037612070002 s/n: DM6331_LP-(manu date here). Google finds little info on these numbers

5 of 5 Great value. Lithium battery is potential low poin Monday, March 17, 2008
Angus McFleam from Ann Arbor, MI
A great value at this price. Camera/Manual: Camera is feature rich and easy to use with a large, clear screen and user-friendly menus. The buttons are a little hard to read because of their small size and very dark color, but are pretty intuitive once you RTFM (Read The Flippin' Manual) and play with the settings a bit. Speaking of the manual, the printed one is the typical muti-language edition and grammatically "Chinglished", but isn't the worst the author has seen. The PDF manual included on the CD with the software is for (what appears to be) and earlier and/or different camera model. Carry Case: The included case is sufficient to hold and protect the camera, but has no pockets to carry an additional SD card or other items. SD card storage: There is no indication in the manual that SDHC cards will work in this camera, and I have none with which to test it. It does accept a 2GB SD card, and, at that storage capacity will take over 500 photos at the absolute maximum resolution the camera can achieve. At minimum resolution (VGA), the number is huge - over 8,000. Battery - type/estimated capacity: Power is supplied via a removable Lithium Ion battery (3.7V, 820mAh). Battery and external charger are a potential low point here. The battery cannot be charged while inside the camera, so you are left with carrying the charger and cord around in case your usage needs exceed the battery capacity. Charge time was a little over 1 hour initially, and about 45 minutes at 1/4 to 1/2 battery capacity, as indicated on the cameras power meter. Fully-charged, the battery was good for a couple of hours playing with the settings, familiarizing with the menus, shooting some video, recording some voice and taking over 100 flash photos before reaching 1/4 battery charge per the camera meter - the camera was not indicating a charge was needed at that time. I didn't wait for it to exhaust itself, so YMMV. Battery - replacement/spare: I have been unsuccessful in finding a replacement/spare battery of this type. The Norcent website is absolutely useless and, in fact, doesn't even have this camera listed, let alone replacement batteries! I did find a battery at a local dealer that seems to almost fit this camera, although it is ever-so-slightly different dimensionally that it doesn't snap into place quite like the original, but the comapartment door does close. The camera did power-up with it in place though, so it may be the only choice for the time being. The model number and specs are as follows: BLI-269, 3.7V/800mAh. The dealer wanted $35.00 for the battery (yeah, right!), but a little research on the net has me thinking you can find one for less than $20.00. The one I tried was made by Empire. There are several BLI-269 model batteries on the net that list mAh ratings as 650, 700 and 800. I do not know why there are different ratings, but the one I tried was 800mAh and was dimensionally identical to the 650mAh one in the same store - they both "almost" fit and did power up the camera. They are listed as a replacement unit for a Konica/Minolta NP-900 battery. Bottom Line: For this kind of money, all things considered...Buy It!

My initial review was before I had bought the camera, Now that I have the camera with me and have used it for couple of days, its been a grt buy @ the price. Overall shape size weight are way too cool than other camera's in the market. picture quality..I would give it 7/10...its not a professional awesome quality camera but for begineers it beats everythin out there in the market. Day time pics r good...night time..mm questionable!! But for that price..GO GRAB one!!

5 of 5 An amazing value! Saturday, March 15, 2008
    Max B. from Chicago, IL
The pictures on this website do not do this product justice. The stock photos make the camera, in my opinion, look larger than it actually is. At about twice the thickness and a slightly smaller length and height than an 80GB iPod classic, this thing is exceptionally portable. The pictures look great for the price, especially when you turn on the anti shake. It isn't perfect for low light, but it can hold its own with a little adjustment. It has a pentax lens, probably one of their more budget ones. The specs are f=6.2-18.6 mm F=2.8-5.2. You'll absolutely need an SD card and I recommend something large like 8GB so you can store a few thousand photos. The video it creates is a bit grainy, but its a nice addition and something that really needs to be included to be competitive. It will due for a lot of things, especially when you're in natural sunlight. There are lots of cool little pre built settings like picture frames, sepia, black and white, animals, fireworks, kids, food, buildings, etc. With a little bit of learning this can be the ultimate portable point and shoot; perfect for somebody who isn't a serioud photographer but needs something that they can carry with them. Includes a carrying case with belt loop and rechargeable battery and charger, which is nice in the sense that you don't have to go out and buy a batteries, but bad in the sense that you can't change the batteries if you're out and about. I'd do some research and buy a second spare battery and carry it along. Overall, for $80 (Or less if you can find coupons; I paid $60) this is the absolute best deal you're likely to find, and the camera looks like it's worth a lot more than you'll pay for it.

I think its a very good deal for the price, if not the best deal. I really liked the design, very stylish. The features include face detection, anti-shake, and many picture modes like building, video, kids, portrait, etc... <br> What i did not understand was, if it is really 16 mb internal memory, why can i only take one pic with 8mp super fine quailty, and only two with fine quality ? even tho i erased everything on it and reset it. Is one superfine pic 16mb ?!!! or is a defect?

4 of 5 Careful about buying SDHC card for this Friday, March 07, 2008
    A Customer from Dallas, TX
I'm getting this camera for the price (5 rate) but somewhat concerned it may not be able to accept SDHC cards (SD High Capacity) that allow for greater than 2GB of storage. I'm not entirely sure but since I don't see the SDHC logo on it I'll assume not. Also, the Norcent website is useless. You would think they had a manual for their cameras to download. Gave them a (4) for everything else.

    5 of 5 Gr8t product for a Gr8t price!! Thursday, March 06, 2008
    Kirit from New Brunswick NJ
I opened my weekly update email from BUY.com and found this superlative deal. Couldnt miss it. Being a student this price was a dream for the MP demand I had with my camera. I did a lot of research about other products from the company, and I ordered the camera without a blink of an eye... It has a SD card slot which means u r open to buy any size of card and u r perfect. The only problem I found with the companies camera's was a low battery life i.e. if u use a regular battery it will last for around 65 pics/ 45 with flash..so i ordered a 2 GSD card [$7 buy.com] and a fast rechargable batteries!! Grt deal guys.....go for it!!

    Michael from Los Angeles
the first review mentioned "no mention of external memory" but it says right in the features this line "Storage: 16MB internal memory, SD/MMC card slot" which means you can obviously add whatever SD/MMC memory cards to it. the cameras features look exellent, and after owning many digital cameras, im thinking of purchasing this one because it is so cheap, and always having it on me for those special moments i wish i had a camera for.....now i do!

    ruthie from Louisiana
I thought reviews were suppose to be written by people who actually have tried out the item in question? I found this in the specs of this camera: Storage: 16MB internal memory, SD/MMC card slot Isn't this what theprevious reviewer was saying that it does not have? I do not have this product but was interested in buying it and read their review. So of course I had to go check this out for myself and this is what I found. Wouldn't want anyone else to pass up a great deal based on their inaccurated info.

A Customer from San Francisco, CA
This looks like a sweet deal for a decent camera, but one thing jumped out at me: I was unable to find a reference, anywhere, to the ability to use removable media, like SD, to store images. If indeed it has no external card slot, you will be limited to the built in 16 MB.
