5 of 5 iphone killer! Tuesday, March 04, 2008 joeoregon from Eugene, or
I absolutely love this phone after having owned if for just over 2 weeks. This does everything and more that I could ever need a mobile for. In fact i don't feel like i need to lug around a laptop anymore. Battery life is about 2 days with moderate use, some wifi and gps, mp3s and streaming radio. the list of 3rd party apps is endless, try that with an Iphone! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Techie phone Saturday, February 16, 2008 A Customer from NYC, NY
I absolutely love this phone. It's a little hard to use, considering that it doesn't have a touch screen or a qwerty keypad. But, otherwise this phone has virtually everything out there. This being the US version, it's fast (n95-1 had lesser memory than this phone). The browser can do everything the iphone's browser can do (and more). Surfing isn't as easy as the iphone. There are lot of cool applications for the phone. There's even one that rotate your screen automatically like the iphone. What else.... you can view and edit office docs.... pretty neat phone , but, a little expensive. YOU CAN EVEN MAKE THE PHONE A NETWORK DRIVE OVER WIFI. AND.. I'm typing this review from the phone. This is really the best phone money can buy at the moment. I have owned all manners of smartphones - Windows Mobile 6, Palm, etc. By far, the Symbian OS balances user-friendliness and stability the best among the three. I will not touch on the features already mentioned, but just to point out that one of the most significant improvements of this N95-3 model over the N95-1 is the 25% higher capacity battery. Unlike the N95-1 which was widely criticized for its a-charge-a-day battery life, I can last two full days with moderate use on this phone. Not fantastic, but for the features, I am prepared to live with this. Was this review helpful?

I do find myself defending my purchase of this phone, as opposed to iphone, frequently. Its an easy defense, because this phone does so much more.
This ad description above isn't entirely clear, so let me state now with certainty that this IS the N95-3, North American Version with 3G and enhanced GPS and battery. This is also why the camera lacks a lens cover, as it was removed in a redesign to accommodate the larger battery.
It works like a charm. Camera is slow, even by phone standards, but the results are worth the wait. The Life Blog function is really intriguing, and organizes all things in the phone along a timeline, kind of like a live journal. GPS is ok, a little slow to start but fine after.
The phone is complicated, and that means a significant learning curve. Be prepared to access the online help, with is really only mediocre, or to read the manual.
The processor performance is what blows me away time and time again. Being able to add applications to operating system, emails are snappy, blitzing through multiple applications, it keeps up and does well. Was this review helpful?

Absolutly amazing! This phone..if I can call it that funcions as promised in all areas..super great sound through the tiny stereo speakers and great wi-fi. Camera is way better than most but still not equal to a stand alone costing say $200. This model does not have a closing lens cover as I thought all N95 did..it isn't that big of a deal since it is in the case most of the time. Well designed and equipped..the battery isn't the best with heavy use..it will get you through the day..It is not that bad for an item like this with normal use..there is an after market 1400mah battery available (ebay) but you have to use the included over sized cover..not a bad work-around but the larger battery cover only comes in plum..my phone is black.. I am selling my N90..nice phone but much slower in every area. Even though the N95 is spendy..cheapest on Buy.com..It help selling the old one on ebay to make up a couple hundred of the cost--justification? Overall, it is the best gadget I have purchased so far...and I play with alot of new toys. Was this review helpful?
