Jealousy is Dangerous. Obsession is Deadly.

Features: DVD

Candace Cameron Bure and Fred Savage star in this tragic true story and gritty psychological drama about out-of-control teen obsession that turns violent...and then deadly.

Shy sixteen-year-old Stacy Collins (Candace Cameron Bure) can't believe that the most popular guy in school, an attractive athlete named Bobby Tennison (two-time Golden Globe Nominee Fred Savage), is interested in her. At first she is flattered by his constant attention, but then he becomes possessive and jealous - telling her who she can speak to and what she can wear. Threats escalate into violence when Bobby thinks Stacy has stepped out of line. Soon she is walking on egg shells and living in fear. Having seen the tell-tale bruises, Stacy's best friend convinces her to break things off with Bobby - but in a moment of weakness, Stacy goes to meet him. It will be the last time she is seen alive.

Editor's Note

At first, shy high-school student Stacy is surprised and flattered when a popular jock named Bobby shows an interest in her. But over time, his innocent flirtations turn into a frightening possessiveness. When Stacy is urged by her best friend to end it once and for all, she decides to give Bobby one more chance--a fatal move.

Professional Reviews
At-A-Glance Film Reviews 8 of 10
This movie is a study of an abusive relationship between two characters played to a tee by Candice Cameron Bure and, playing against type to good effect, Fred Savage. As a rule, I don't like TV movies that double as public service announcements. I'm tempted to dislike this one more than usual because it appears to rely (and sometimes does) on the type of sensationalistic drama of daytime soap opera to keep its audience. At the same time, it's more sincere than most television dramas, and it has a cast that elevates the story above its roots. And, to be fair, it does have a valid and important cause. Unfortunately, the film falls short in spite of these strengths.
