5 of 5 Not as good as the Crossbow Monday, May 04, 2009 Joe from Minneapolis, MN
The Wii Perfect Shot gun works well with the Wii system. I have the Wii Crossbow (Links Crossbow) as well and like that set-up better. The only problem I have with the gun is that you aim based on your relationship with the sensor instead of actually where the images are located at the screen. (you will not actually be aiming with the gun at the object you are trying to shoot on the screen) Overall - good product for the price though and definately makes shooting games more fun. 4 of 5 Good for the money Tuesday, August 05, 2008 SS from Edwardsville Ks
This is a very inexpensive alternative to the other guns for the Wii. That being said it is a cut above the competition. With the wiimote inserted it is nicely balanced and the nunchuck plugs into the bottom of the grip which keeps the cords out of the way. I personally like the larger grip but some find it difficult to use. Believe it or not I do find that I get fatigued when using this gun. Once the controller is locked in (with the orange strap on the front) then the trigger becomes pretty tight. You will either build up some muscle in your finger :) or you can actually use this with the controller not locked in which makes it much easier to use. It does look kinda stupid not locked in though. I find that the aiming is off but it is just more noticeable which the gun because of how you hold it compared to just the controller. This can be fixed by relocating your sensor bar and is not the fault of the gun. I would have liked to see something with a little better color scheme but we wouldn't want children getting shot pointing their wi-mote guns at people? Its definitely worth the 1 0 to 1 5 Bu cks. Check it out Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Perfect Gun Monday, July 21, 2008 A Gamer from Birmingham, AL
This gun is awesome in its design and performance. When I bought this gun, I did not even think to check to see if it would allow you to attach the nunchuck. It DOES allow for this and smartly so via a connection at the base of the gun. I found the gun to be very accurate. Now, I want more shooter games!!! Was this review helpful?

First of all, I just found it tragic that one review complains about the "aiming" of the gun, when the aiming of the gun is not a problem of the gun itself, but probably the wii design and settings (more likely the latter). I noticed aiming problems when i started using the gun, and it was because of my Wii settings were off. After I had that fixed, it was still slightly inaccurate, but accurate enough for decent shots (I noticed that Zelda crossbow training was a bit off more than usual, but maybe that's just me)
If you're sick of holding your wiimote in a lame fashion while playing shooting games such as resident evil:UC, then this accessory is worth it. The frame seems too lightweight at first, but after attaching the wiimote, the gun seems to be well-balanced in the hand. It feels slightly bulgy when I first gripped it (maybe my hands are too small), but it didn't seem to bother me otherwise.
I wouldn't say I play games very much, but this got me playing Zelda crossbow training and RE:UC more consistently lately, being that it feels more comfortable than the wiimote, or zapper. It's definitely nicer to have more flexibility with the nunchuk and its controls as well.
My main complaint would be that the first thing I noticed when I opened the package, was that the trigger button squeaked. I hoped that it would go away, but it's still there. Unfortunately, I feel like this aspect might be common in the other guns, so I don't plan on returning it. However, it's not something too noticeable during gameplay, so I could live with it...
I would say that for everyone who just feels likes picking up a point-and-shoot game, this is an ideal accessory that should have a wide audience. Surprisingly, even my girlfriend got into RE:UC after using the perfect shot gun, even though she originally thought she'd hate such games!
As a last note, if you're looking for an accessory to visually impress your friends, this would NOT be it...
...save your quarters from the arcade, and buy the gun instead! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 A couple qwerks, but overall good. Sunday, June 01, 2008 A Gamer from Omaha, NE
I bought a couple of these for some of my shooter games. Overall I’m quite pleased with the gun; it’s an improvement over the competition. The controller locks in nice and easy, it’s fairly ergonomic, it’s much more gun-like in operation. I do however have three gripes. The gun handle isn’t very well fitted to a human hand it’s a little bulky, it does the job but it’s not as comfortable as I’d like but not a big problem. Second, so many games use A to navigate menus or fire, that and lack of access to the direction pad make it unusable in some games. But that’s not Nyko’s fault, it’s more Nintendo’s or the game manufacturer’s. It would be nice if they could come up with an innovative way to give access to these buttons but that’s easier said than done. Third, and biggest, the internal spring is nice for response time but it’s a wee bit too tight. On games that require fast shooting like house of the dead 2 & 3 you’ll find you finger getting too tired to play quite quickly. I often have to swap trigger fingers or hands in order to keep going. I’d like to find a way to loosen it up a bit. Overall I’d give the thing a high recommendation, as far as Wii gun adapters go it’s the best one out. Was this review helpful?

the point of the gun is to be able to aim at your wii targets as you would with tradition hand gun approach. Unfortunately aiming is where the gun falls short. The design or lack of, does not account for the difference in the angle of the wii receiver and the actual target.
Which varies depending on the size of your tv and wii receiver placement. So the result is you aim at the wii object with the gun and the wii's (tv screens) cross hairs are some (a lot) distance away from the object. So to play with the gun and hit an object you have to point the gun away from the target which defeats the whole idea of using a gun interface.
Thumbs down!!!
They should of made the mount of the wii sender interface in the gun adjustable so that the angle difference can be accounted for. A simple change and this product would of got a rating of all 5's

This is a great gun accessory because...guess what? It actually looks and feels like a gun, shocking isn't it. Seriously though, I had Ghost Squad but the Perfect Shot was on back order. I tried to play just with the wii-mote and the game was lame. Got my Perfect Shot and all of a sudden the game was really fun. Very sturdy design and good weight balance, button config is akward on MOH Heroes 2 in regards to changing weapons and throwing grenades but shooting was outstanding. You'd be crazy to get the zapper or some other cheap immitation, this is as good as it gets for rail shooters or any other light gun game. Now they need to make me an Assault Rifle version :) Was this review helpful?

I own both the "Perfect Shot" and the "Wii Zapper", and sadly for Nintendo, they blew their chances with the Zapper. Why the Zapper design was changed before release is beyond me ??? All I can say is that the Perfect Shot has a superior trigger mechanism and the Nunchuck pass-through at the bottom is phenomenal. Analog control feels much more natural with the Perfect Shot because both hands aren't forced into a cramped position (which is a huge design flaw for the Wii Zapper). Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Perfect BUY 4 YOU Monday, January 28, 2008 Steve from Minnesota
A absolute buy if you have shooter games. A little large for my three year olds hands but I expect he will grow. Gives much stability to the gun sights in medal of honor 2. imagine it will a plus with all shooting games. Delighted!!!!!! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Simply great product! Wednesday, January 23, 2008 A Gamer from Urbana, IL.

5 of 5 A peripheral that lives up to its name! Monday, January 21, 2008 A Gamer from Internet, IA
Very rarely does a third party product exceed the performance of its first party counterpart. Once you get the Wii-mote plugged into the Perfect Shot, it feels nearly identical to a traditional Arcade lightgun. Aiming is much easier in Umbrella Chronicles and Ghost Squad now (be sure to use the "Zapper" control scheme). Very highly recommended! Was this review helpful?

This is an excellent item to purchase if you like the "shoot 'em up" type games. The Wii remote just slides into the top of the gun and you can use the trigger for arcade-like action. At some points, you may have to use the "A" button as well, which can get a little awkward. Excellent for use with "Ghost Squad". This is a better choice that the Wii "Zapper" for most applications. 5 of 5 Excellent Gun For Wii Thursday, January 17, 2008 A Gamer from St. Marys, Ohio
My son and I use the controllers all the time. Bought Ghost Squad just to try the controllers. The controllers are so nice that we are looking to get another shooter just to use them. I would buy them again and would recommend them to all our friends. Was this review helpful?

IGN gave this a rave review, praising its design over the inferior official Wii Zapper accessory. One of the big reasons IGN hated the Zapper so much was the lack of a spring-loaded trigger.
The problem with the Perfect Shot, though, is the spring-loaded trigger. It's simply too difficult to pull without moving the gun around a bit, which causes serious problems with accuracy. The other big problem is that with the Wiimote attached to the Perfect Shot, it's not balanced correctly; it's quite top heavy, which only further adds to the accuracy problem. It's actually kind of a pain to use, and so far the best way to play games with a "zapper" like peripheral is to just use the Wiimote by itself. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Alternative to The Zapper Thursday, January 10, 2008 A Gamer from CA
This Nyko Powershot is perfect for all the Wii rail shooter games, it feels a lot more comfortable than the awkward hand positions to the zapper and is the best way to go. The pistol just feels comfortable and has a better pass through for the nunchuck. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Zapper VS. Perfect Shot Friday, January 04, 2008 A Gamer from Memphis TN
Ok here is the basic review of the perfect shot, Really in TWO words GET IT. 1 it does improve accuacy in some of the best ways. 2 believe it or not the gun is pretty hard to get a hold of, saying that because the Nyko site wouldnt let you get any for a while but anyway, it does have a spring to push the trigger back which really helps in its own little way though its seams a little fat when you first get it but thats only because the wiimote has to fit in it. I bought two and me and my girlfriend play with them a lot, games like link crossbow, ghost sqaud and resident evil with this gun makes the games a whole lot better. And the two handed zapper is not something u want to use on these games trust me I have it. To sum it up this works period. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Top of The Line Friday, January 04, 2008 UrAvrgGamer from Boise Idaho
So far this is the best light gun attachment for the Wii that i have come across. This puts the Wii zapper made by nintendo to shame.
It is a very well designed and thought out addition for the on the rails shooter genre, such as Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, Ghost Squad, Medal of Honor: Heros 2, and even works well with Links Crossbow Training. I wouldn't suggest using it for other shooters that involve more than just using the trigger, and the nunchuck for operation. As this attachment is not designed for use of the top buttons simataneously with the trigger.
The only other complaint with this attachment is that your Wiimote might sit a little off, causing you to have to adjust your aim slightly in the opposite direction, which pretty much becomes unnoticable during gameplay. But beyond that, this is the best in the league of gun attachments thus far, very well made indeed, and worth the price. Was this review helpful?
