Nikon Coolpix S550 Digital Camera - Graphite Black - 10 Megapixel - 16:9 - 4x Digital Zoom - 2.5" Active Matrix TFT Color LCD - 26108

I own a Nikon SLR film camera, which looks and performs like a star. The camera looks like a piece of art and when you hold it, you feel like holding an engineering marvel. No such feelings with Coolpix S550 even with its impressive statistics. It looks cheap with its cheesy power and shutter buttons. But beyond the looks, it is a well performing camera. It powers up and is ready to use in about 2 seconds, takes great pictures and is very compact. I am not a photography expert, so I will not go into that arena. Overall, I rate this at 2 for look and feel and 5 for its performance.

I do not know much about cameras and I just received this one in the mail. It was simple for a new user such as myself to set up and begin taking pictures. If all you want to do is point and click, this camera does the job. I had bought a digital camera thru the mail before but when it arrived the instruction manual proved to be too complex, this was not the case with the Nikon coolpix, it was very straight forward and easy to read. I haven't had this camera for very long but I tested it out using multiple settings and features and it seems to handle quite well.
