No complaints about functionality. Very easy to use.
Only reservation is the lack of memory out of the box. Camera itself only holds 4-5 pics. So an external card is needed prior to first use. Was this review helpful?

I have a brother who works for Nikon and asked him which camera will provide great pictures and will allow me to take pictures quickly. (I was currently using the L11 which took 15 seconds between photos so I missed some oportunities) He advised the L18 had fixed the quickness of photo shooting and now within seconds it is ready to take another photo. If you have used the L series before the body design is similar. The function buttons to view and choose photo type are on the top of the camera.
Pros. Fast, light, runs for a while on typical Energizer batteries, Clear LCD, Pictures come out clear, easy to use, buy.com had very fast shipping and I got this at a great price using the $10 off coupon.
Cons. The sd slot is next to the batteries whereas the L18 had it on the side. I prefer it on the side because I do no use the usb cable as this camera goes from home to work and back home and if you lose the cable then welcome to another expense. Having to open the batteries every time I want to pop the card out to transfer images is a bit tedious but the pros make it worth it and I really do not want to buy another camera until the DSLR's lower in price.
I have a bit of a bias as family member works for nikon, but I really like this camera and I have used panasonics, hp's and olympics. This has been my favorite. Was this review helpful?

Great little camera!
Small size can be carried in your pocket and yet it has one of the largest LCD screens there is- 3"
I would recommend this camera to anyone looking for a small digital with Big Features: 3" LCD, 8 Mega pixel Resolution, Macro, 4X Digital Zoom, easy to use. Was this review helpful?
