4 of 5 Not for a D40x though Thursday, July 10, 2008 A Customer from Jacksonville, FL
I got this lens in a hurry before my 2 week long trip, so apparently I did not do a great job of researching. I read bunch of reviews and comments in forums but apparently not from a D40x user. I thought with the AF lens I would get the autofocus, but it turned out that the lens did not have the focus motor in it, so I cannot autofocus with my Nikon D40x. However, it let me learn how to manual focus, and learn to how to make sure what I want to focus is in focus.
It is great in low light situations. I was in historical places, they were dark and most of the time flash was not allowed. So I switched to 1.8 f number and took really good pictures. I am getting used to manual focus. It is a great lens for the price but you need to pay attention to the manual focus deal. Was this review helpful?
