Features: DVD, Pan and Scan (TV Format), Aspect Ratio 1.33:1, Dolby Digital Stereo, New Footage, Music Videos "With this ring I thee wed." So begins MTV's Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica--Season One. Sure they've got it all--money, fame and now each other--but it's not always a fairy tale! Down-to-earth Nick and "spoiled" Jessica (her words, not ours) now have to learn to live with each other: Together they'll overcome the ordinary, when dirty laundry piles up and disagreements over decor arise, as well as the extraordinary, when Nick attends a risque party while Jessica is out of town. There'll be tender moments and "Jessica moments" as the lovebirds learn to juggle their careers and their commitments to each other. On Newlyweds, love means never having to tell your beloved that buffaloes don't have wings.
 Editor's Note
Somehow Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson have managed to escape the "Bennifer" curse that plagues most celebrity couples. The world seems to actually like them. Perhaps this is because they are actually married and what's more, have stayed together long enough for several seasons of their hit reality show. While the premise of following two married pop-stars sounds potentially nauseating, the resulting NEWLYWEDS series is actually quite entertaining. Aside from being rich, good-looking, and famous, Nick and Jessica seem to be nice, normal people (that viewers can relate to). But what makes the couple most likeable is their openness. These newlyweds have earned the public's good graces precisely by letting them in. Featuring the entire first season of NEWLYWEDS, this release documents the superstars' struggles to balance their growing careers with the stresses of marital life. Season one features classic "Jessica" moments like when she honestly mistakes Chicken of the Sea tuna for being actual chicken. When teased for this and similar comments, Simpson responded by embracing this "ditzy" humor as her hallmark, prompting suspicions that perhaps it is all an act. Act or no act, it is moments like these that give NEWLYWEDS its comedy and charm. Set off against one another, Nick and Jessica's personalities make for fun, entertaining television.
