Inspired by the influential 1970s Animé GETTA ROBO, NEW GETTER ROBO combines the mecha genre with fantastic demon battling. Dr. Saotome is developing a new and powerful robot, the Getter Robo, when his laboratory is attacked by demonic monsters known as Oni. Although the Getter Robo fights the creatures off, it becomes apparent that not just any man can pilot the advanced robot. The good doctor seeks out three unique men who might be capable of operating Getter Robo: master fighter Ryoma, crazy crime boss Hayato, and calm holy man Benkei. VOLUME ONE: RUDE AWAKENING features the first four episodes of the mecha Animé.
