5 of 5 Amazingly Simple!!! Saturday, June 28, 2008 John P. from California
My wife's laptop has a wireless card, and we've been connecting to the internet through my wireless router. We began having difficulties with the wireless set-up, and it became unreliable. I had previously purchased a Powerline setup to get her other computer on the network, so I just purchased another one for her laptop. Plug it in to the house power, connect it to ethernet, and VOILA!! Instant network!! Bundled software is optional, so you don't even have to go through a set-up routine if you don't want. Communication speed is not quite the same as a hardwired setup, but it's better than the WiFi speed we experienced. Definitely worth every penny!!! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Works well, Very easy to use. Friday, November 30, 2007 A Customer from Fargo, ND
The XE102 shipped fast. Using it was as easy as plugging it in. I used the bundled software to apply a password for which I had to unplug the unit(s) to get at their numbers. While it doesn't look ugly, I would prefer a slimmer unit. Thanks to this, I could finally move my PC to another room without being at the mercy of my existing WiFi signal or annoying my wife with ethernet cables all over the floors. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Plug it in and it works! Wednesday, September 20, 2006 A Customer from Oxford, MS
This is perhaps the easiest-to-install networking hardware I've used. Plug one unit into the wall power socket and connect an ethernet cord from your router to the unit. Connect a second unit to a wall power socket wherever you want a new ethernet network connection. Connect your ethernet networking equipment (I connected a wireless access point) to the second unit and voila! Network works. Was this review helpful?

I originally bought one of these devices thinking that everything I need is included. Nope, it includes just one powerline adapter. You must have two in order for this to work.
So when the second one came in, I just plugged one into the wall and the router, and then plugged the other one into the wall where I will be using the computer. The instructions state that I need to wait for the third green light to come on before connecting the computer. Well I waited for an hour and no third green light. So just for kicks, I hooked up the computer anyway. Well the third green light came on as soon as I connected the ethernet cable. This thing actually works. I didn't have to do anything and now I have a computer in another room connected to the internet without running wires.
I am very impressed with this device. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Product! Saturday, February 25, 2006 A Customer from Palm Coast, Florida
This is a great alternative to wireless networking. No software to load, no Windows issues to overcome. You connect the provided ethernet cable to the XE102, connect it to your computer or router and plug it in. It's up and operating with no problems. There is a CD with the manual and the encryption option (which you should install). The only thing you have to do (if you want to make really easy) is write down the unit's serial number, MAC address and password before you plug them in, otherwise you will have to unplug them once.
Great product, great price. No installation hassles. Was this review helpful?

I have done an entire lawyer's office (about 7 machines) with XE102's and am purchasing another today.
They get anywhere from 8 to 12mbps, and since it's a hardwired solution (electrical wire is still wire) you have plenty of stability and security.
These are a great way to share a network printer without having to run cable, too. =) Was this review helpful?

First I tried wireless router to connect internet with my 2 desktops in 2 rooms of my home. Actually, the wireless network worked but the connection often used to be disconnected and especially in case of viewing multimedia files streamed on-line it didn't worked.
This wall-plugged ethernet bridge is the solution to all of my problems with wireless network. Now I am happy with my networking condition and recommend it to the people who don't need wireless but need to connect desktops in different rooms. Was this review helpful?

This product is easy to set up. I bought a pair of these which arrived while I was out of town. My wife and son (not computer geeks) hooked them up, connecting one to our hub, and one to my son's computer.
No software to setup, and I haven't touched them since. Unlike with wireless, my son has no complaints about the speed. Was this review helpful?

Extremely easy to use, all I did was plug and connect. Have had numerous issues with 802.11g wireless network - interference with cordless phone and appliances, inconsistent throughput, etc. Even though the XE102 has a slower throughput, it provides a reliable steady connection. Will try it with my Playstation soon. Was this review helpful?

Integrated with two XE602's. The 102's software is much better than that of the XE602, however you can only drive the 602's remotely from the 102 software (which is already a great improvement), you cannot connect directly to a 602 to manage the rest. Using the 102 to provide broadband access to my Xbox in my living room. Works great, no drops. Was this review helpful?
