5 of 5 Great item for the price! Monday, May 11, 2009 Vic from Atlanta, GA
I bought this when I needed to move my cable modem/router away from my desktop and to another room to accommodate my slingbox. Works great! Highly recommend. Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 stopped working after about one week Tuesday, March 10, 2009 A Customer from Nederland, TX
I bought this when it was on special for a future project so I just go around to using it. After about 1 week of regular use it has stopped working but it's too late to return it. It ran hot but I've heard that about a lot of USB adapters so I wasn't initially concerned. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 a solid performer Wednesday, February 18, 2009 A Customer from Waukesha, WI
I bought this WIFI-G adapter to replace an older one. It works very well and holds the signal (older unit would loose the connection). I've been using it for about 2 weeks now, and would rate it higher if I knew that it wouldn't fail or burn out (it does operate very warm). Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Netgear WPN111NAR RangeMax Wireless-G MIMO USB 2.0 Tuesday, February 10, 2009 A Customer from Oak Harbor, WA
Nice thing about USB is you don't have to open computer to install. Loaded on Windows XP system without a hitch after downloading software. Would recommend to anyone who doesn't want to hassle with PCI adapter installations. Was this review helpful?
3 of 5 Works ok Monday, February 09, 2009 Elvin from Reston, VA
The connection is dropped from time to time and i have to unplug and plug back in to get it working. Meanwhile, all my other wireless systems never get disconnected. Besides that, the range and speed is great! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great deal! Monday, January 19, 2009 A Customer from Turlock, CA
I haven't used any other wireless adapters, but this seems to work really well. It is very easy to set up and it is easy to get the drivers online (make sure you have another computer available with internedd access. Also, you do need to heed the instructions and mount it upright as high as possible and as close as possible to the wireless router. If you do not, the signal is drastically affected. 5 of 5 Worked Great, easy to connect and free Driver inst Tuesday, January 13, 2009 Prakash from Colton, CA

netgear connection/monitoring wizard is great.

5 of 5 Great value and works great!! Friday, January 02, 2009 A Customer from Washington DC
Bought 3 of these and I recommend them to anyone! As mentioned you must download the drivers and install them before inserting the adapter into your machine... absolutely a phenomenal deal! Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Great value Monday, December 29, 2008 A Customer from Cleveland, OH
Worked perfectly right away. No trouble installing or connecting. Gets a little warm after long periods of use but no issues with this adapter.
I used this on a laptop where the on-board wireless adapter failed. Works just fine. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Works Like a Champ Monday, December 22, 2008 A Customer from Reston, VA
Works perfectly and gets great reception/range. You have to download the driver from a website (which could be a problem if you are not yet connected to the internet) but quick and easy install, and it works like a champ! Was this review helpful?
3 of 5 Great, except when it overheats and dies Sunday, December 21, 2008 A Customer from California
Great Price.
Easy to D/L driver from Netgear for Vista.
Easy software installation.
Decent connection, but only 70-80% with router 9 foot from computer (admittedly with a fridge in direct line between).
Bought two. The first worked great for 4 days then crashed utterly and would not come back until it was unplugged until cool. Second currently working great - swapping between them not a problem.
As others have noted, this unit design gets HOT (undoubtably the reason for shutdown.) This might be a better product for those who regularly turn off their computers, than for those with 365/24/7 operation. Was this review helpful?
2 of 5 It fried Thursday, December 18, 2008 A Customer from Duluth
Worked for two months, then gave up! Initially it worked well but then started over-heating and hanging up connections. Then one day i could smell that it burned. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great little adapter Wednesday, December 17, 2008 A Customer from Baytown, TX
Works very well. Strong signal reception. Even picks up neighbors' routers. No problem downloading drivers online and installing. Refurb is the way to go! Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 Do Not Buy This Product Thursday, December 11, 2008 A Customer from Greensboro, NC
I bought this to replace another wireless adapter and this one just didn't measure up. Signal strength was terrible. I would not recommend this to anyone. It was easy to use and cheap, now I know why. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 does the job better than my laptop's in-built wifi Wednesday, December 03, 2008 satisfied customer from San Diego, CA
It is very easy to use. Just plug-n-play, that's why I love USB connections. Even though its a refurb, it works perfectly fine. It comes with a USB extention cord which is also convenient if needed.
I got it about a month ago because my laptop's wifi was having trouble getting internet from my Netgear Wireless router, so I figured getting a Netgear adapter would help, and it surely did! It does the job better than my laptop's in-built wifi for picking up the internet signal from my Netgear router. I did notice though that my laptop picks up more connections than this USB adapter. I'm assuming that's because my laptop has a higher range, but I'm definitely satisfied with this adapter as I only need to connect to my router. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Works with linux Wednesday, December 03, 2008 Chris from Lincoln NE
Got this adapter for use with an old desktop with USB 1.0 and running linux. Got it to work in about 10 minutes. You have to use ndiswrapper with the windows drivers when using this adapter with linux. Even with USB 1.0 I still max out my 1.5MB/s DSL at 1.3MB/s, which is the speed I get with a wired connection. 5 of 5 great price, works well Friday, November 07, 2008 A Customer from Shanghai, China
downloaded the lastest driver from netgear.com 9.6MB, install, then plugged it in, no problems connecting and decent signal strength to my netgear router. We'll see about reliability as I continue to use it but don't anticipate any issues as I've been pretty happy with netgear's performance thus far. Great price and free shipping Was this review helpful?

4 of 5 Coolant required Friday, October 31, 2008 A Customer from Duluth, MN
It works good enough, good streaming speed even though i am 10 ft away from my router with a couple of walls in the way. However, It heats up(thats normal) but after 2-3 days it goes dead. Solution: unplug, keep it aside for 5 min, replug Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 easy setup but low signal reception Friday, October 24, 2008 BW from Atlanta
The driver is not provided but is easy to download from netgear website. I've been using for almost 2 weeks with no major problem. The only con is the signal reception is low. I compared them by putting my laptop (with built-in wireless network adapter) next to the netgear adapter. My laptop got very good to excellent signal while netgear got low to weak signal. I'm using XP and linksys router though. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Great Item Thursday, October 23, 2008 Boyd from Bellevue, WA
I was hesitant to purchase a product like this as a refurb, but it works well so far.
The only problem I had, was kind of a nuisance. I purchased this to replace my previous wireless USB adapter... so I had no internet. This DID NOT come with an installation CD, so I had to use a friends computer to download the installation file from Netgear's website, and then install it on my computer.
It worked fine, but gosh that was a hassle.
If it came with a installation CD, I would recommend this to everybody interest in such a product! Was this review helpful?

4 of 5 Great deal for price! Tuesday, October 21, 2008 A Customer from Plano, Tx
I receieved my item and the only bad thing I found out was it didn't come with a installation disc. Now I'm not sure if it was a shipping issue or it was just never to be included with the refurbished deal I got, but everything worked out fine. After awhile of trying out how to figure how I could install the Netgear wireless usb I went to netgear.com to download the program i needed. Since then I've not really had any problems so it was a gooood investment for the price. Was this review helpful?

3 of 5 A little desapointed Monday, October 20, 2008 User from Los Angeles
I tried to set it up with my vista laptop to no prevail. I downloaded the vista supported driver from the web site, but would't work. I did install it on an XP laptop with no problem, but the range doesn't seem better than with my G adapter. I have a Range Max Netgear router ( N ).
I guess I will keep using it with my XP laptop. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Great product with a small Catch 22 Wednesday, October 01, 2008 Mike from Kennesaw, GA
Works perfectly with my cheap Netgear WGR614 router ($39.99), but since installation instructions and software are all online you have to have internet access to install. It wasn't hard to find online and the software and drivers for Windows XP installed quickly and easily. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Does what it's supposed to do Monday, September 29, 2008 A Customer from Summerville, SC
The only problem someone might have is that the software needs to be downloaded from Netgear's web site. Other than that, installation was a charm and it connected to my network without any problems (using it with an older desktop computer). Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Generally reliable Monday, September 22, 2008 A Customer from Watertown, NY
Great product for the price. After a simple installation of the software it works great...most of the time. Sometimes it does not connect automatically, but this is usually fixed by simply unplugging it and plugging it back into the USB port. I now have several of these on multiple OS's and it seems to work fine on all versions of windows. Was this review helpful?

This small unit receives very well in my cinder block basement where other units had trouble. Just a slight bad moment after installation when my router stopped working. Rebooting the router solved this problem. A web search told me this was a quite common with several brands of wireless recievers, that require a modem reboot after software installation, which the instructions don't mention Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 It is good. Tuesday, September 09, 2008 lousmith84 from ferndale mi
I didn't have the dropping out problems others have experienced, it does run warm though. I think that may be due to not getting enough current through the usb port, and heating up. I use an active extension cable. If it holds up, I would say it's a good value for the money. Used it 2 weeks so far, the netgear software is kind of screwy, I prefer xp/vistas, your mileage may vary. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Works Great! Monday, September 08, 2008 A Customer from Arcadia, Florida
This is the second Netgear WPN111NAR RangeMax Wireless-G MIMO USB 2.0 Adapter (Refurbished) I have purchased. Easy to install and great coverage. I would recommend using it with a Netgear RangeMax Router. Mixing brands can sometimes cause problems. I have one computer 30 feet way from the router and another 2 houses down the block! Now my uncle now has free Internet. Because of the range, ALWAYS turn on security. I use WPA2-PSK(AES). I have never had a problem with a refurbished product, and at $15 with free shipping it is a no brainer. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Easy to Install, Vista sleep mode problems Monday, September 08, 2008 A Customer from Mt. Pleasant, WI
I have a netgear router so I fully expected no compatibility issues with this adapter. Overall it installed on Vista with no problems and when working have great performance. (It should be noted that the adapter is located in the same room as my router.) I so seem to be having intermittent connectivity issues where I don't get a signal after the computer comes out of sleep mode. My guess is that Vista is the problem but haven't investigated it fully. 5 of 5 Great Little Device Sunday, September 07, 2008 Dave from Adrian, MI
I recently upgraded my router to a Netgear product. When I saw the Netgear wireless adapter for such a great price at buy.com I had to try it out. I have 2 other wireless adapters that I have purchased over the past 4 years. It is a Motorola and a Linksys adapter. This Netgear product outshines them all with ease of use, ease of installation, and overall great quality. Was this review helpful?
