A great piece of network equipment and very easy to set up. Wireless N has more range than I expected. I used to be a Linksys fan, but no more! Mine was shipped with the gateway address at 10.0.0.1, login is "admin" and password is "password". I set it up using my browser. Also, it's an attractive looking piece of equipment. But, I turned off those goofy blue antenna lights using the button on the back panel. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great product Sunday, March 22, 2009 A Customer from NJ
The router is great. My 14 yo son was able to install and set it up in less than 30 minutes. The connections are much faster than we had with old Linksys router. Would recommend this product to all who is looking for quality and reliability. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 NetGear Rangemax WRN3500 Router Wednesday, February 11, 2009 Bill N from Lynnwood
Netgear's website leaves something to be desired, but the router is great and fast. Worked great after the setup.

5 of 5 Featured packed gigabit router Sunday, January 11, 2009 A Customer from Bethlehem, PA
This gigabit router was easy to set-up and started working right out of the box. Black case is attractive and shiny, but is quite large, due to the large number of internal antennas. Configuration panel via browser interface has a lot of features, though I found that applying changes to process quite slowly. The wired gigabit speed was noticeable immediately, and streaming video while accessing files and FTP'ing simultaneously is now flawless. (And fun!) One thing to watch out for: I could not connect to the router on one computer because it had an older Cat5 cable going into the wall. (Everything inside the wall is wired with Cat6 cable) Gigabit ethernet really requires Cat6 cabling for best performance, and at the very least Cat5e (enhanced). Was this review helpful?

I've been a loyal LinkSys customer until this router. The Netgear RangeMax WNR3500 is VERY fast and has excellent range. Be sure to update the Firmware after you set it up. As for the cost, it's worth every penny. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Typical NetGear Friday, September 05, 2008 Jherome from Bartlett, Illinois
If you have used a NetGear Router/Access Point before then this unit is for you. Most of the configuration menu's are identical to what you would find on the older model NetGears so configuration should be a breeze. Only a few extra options exist. I purchased the unit to upgrade to both an N connection and make use of the gigabit LAN connections. Migration to this was painless. I can see people having a tough time with configuration if this is their first time using a NetGear. One issue though is the auto update function of the device causes it to lose internet connection. The only fix is to reboot the router. However, not all internet functions stop working and therefore you might not realize that you have a router issue. Was this review helpful?

I've been a loyal Netgear customer for a long time, and have had no issues with many different routers I've had from them.
This one, however, is terrible. No matter what I've tried (and I've tried a million different setting options and placements and firmware revisions) I need to reset the router ~2 times per day to keep wireless connections alive. For some reason it just stops talking over the wireless connection every few hours, even though all wired devices are fine.
Not worth the hassle. Was this review helpful?

I usually stick to Linksys and this time I did 3 hours of research to find this Netgear model. I wasn't impressed by the latest Linksys reviews & the latest Netgear model is a 'dud'. Had no issues setting this beauty up. Works like a champ. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 It doesn't get any easier! Sunday, April 27, 2008 jbuie from Tarboro, NC
My Netgear WNR3500 router arrived within the specified time and I began the installation process with some aprehension because of the previous experience I had with another brand. Much to my surprise, I put in the CD and it installed itself without any problems whatsoever. It was truly "plug and play." No hang-ups, no surprises, and no calling tech support. If you need a router for your home network, this is the one! Was this review helpful?

THIS IS A NEWER PRODUCT FROM NETGEAR. WITH THE EXPERIENCE FROM PREVIOUS PRODUCTS, THIS IS QUITE AS "PLUG AND PLAY" AS YOU COULD EXPECT, FROM SUCH A NEWER PRODUCT. WITH THE INSTUCTION "CD', THERE IS ONLY "YES-NO" SELECTIONS, THAT MAKE INSTALLATION, A "BREEZE". SO FAR- GREAT CONNECTION, NO DROPS, PERFECT MULTIMEDIA, PLAYING. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMEND THIS PRODUCT TO THE MOST "INTIMADATED' CONSUMER. Was this review helpful?
