1 of 5 STILL not Vista compatible, Dec-2007 Monday, December 17, 2007
tvride from Bethel, OH

I purchased this software with the basic assumption that a security company such as Netgear would either already have this important software Vista compatible, or would VERY soon come out with the Vista compatible version. I have been in contact with the company's technical staff many times since purchasing the product and each time they simply tell me it is not ready yet. It comes with a 90-day warranty. Disappointment does not even come close to how I feel about this huge problem. For the record, I bought a new laptop for my small business in Feb-2007, and as many people probably remember there were NO Windows-XP laptops to be found. Vista was the ONLY OS choice. I had high expectations about Netgear's ability to write (or sub-contract) good software for what seems to me IS the very thing thay are selling. Good VPN software is vital to a small business owner. I have not been able to use my purchased VPN product yet. I am more that dissatisfied with this intollerable situation. Microsoft went out of their way to supply information to any and all companies about the upcoming (at the time) OS called Vista. They wanted software-writing comanies to make the transition as smooth as possible so they gave out MUCH information to overcome potential problems such as the one I am referancing here. Many companies used the information in a positive manner and had Vista compatible versions ready within one month of Vista's release. It has been almost one full year now and I still get the same answers from Netgear as I did in June, when I purchased it. My 90-day warranty expired long ago. I wonder what they will do if and when they do finaly deliver the product I purchased.

3 of 5 NetGear Has Yet To Discover Windows Vista Monday, September 24, 2007
Mike_Hansen1 from Las Vegas, NV
The VPN client was a decent enough product a year ago. The biggest problem is that it will not co-exist with the Cisco VPN client software on the same machine. Not necessarily a problem for most users, but problematic for anyone who needs to connect to more than one company's VPN. However, it is now almost October 2007 and NetGear still has neither offered a VPN client compatible with Vista nor published a release date. As it has been since March 2007, it remains "Under development".
