5 of 5 Simply Works -- Simply! Sunday, May 11, 2008 A Customer from Houston, TX
Yay -- no electrical-transformer brick that can fall out of an outlet! Instead, this switch has an honest-to-goodness AC cord permanently attached to the switch on one end and with a dual-prong plug on the other end (with no brick in between, either). Just plug the switch in, and it works! Another feature that I like about this switch is that it automatically adjusts for straight vs. crossover Ethernet cables. Finally, I like the fact that there is no special port for connecting this switch to your router; instead, you can run an Ethernet cable from your router to any one of the twenty-four ports. By the way, the documentation seems to imply that there are no LEDs for the twenty-four ports, but this is NOT true! While the LEDs are not located AT each port, there is a display of LEDs to the left of all of the ports that tells you the status of each port. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Works great Tuesday, May 29, 2007 A Customer from Dallas, TX
This is a work horse network switch. There are newer versions of this product, but this switch is inexpensive, and works great. Like the fact that is does NOT utilize a "power brick" that would cover extra slots on the UPS. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great switch - works as expected. Tuesday, February 27, 2007 sales from Austin, TX
I've always been happy with Netgear quality. This product doesn't disappoint. It's a snap to setup and connect, and I immediately saw a benefit to my speed at my small office. If you want zero configuration and support for up to 24 connections, this is perfect for you. If you're using a patchwork of smaller hubs or switches at your SOHO, don't think twice about replacing them in favor of this one elegant switch. Was this review helpful?
