5 of 5 cheap and easy Monday, May 24, 2004 A Customer from One Click
One of the easiest routers to set up, almost plug and play. Low priced too! No need to call the ISP with a new mac address it can use any address you want, including the computer you're adding it too Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Oh...oh....OOOOOOOH! Monday, April 26, 2004 adavis from Fort Worth, TX
I LOVE it. Two weeks ago I moved my wife's PC to an armoire in "the pretty room". My next hurdle: Get her on the internet so she can check mail. She is used to DSL speeds. She is not disappointed!
I don't care if it only makes 5 Mb tx rate--it is enough! She can't tell the difference and neither can I! Setup is super simple. It works as advertised. She is happy. I am ecstatic!
Not to mention impressed. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 works like a charm Wednesday, March 17, 2004 happy customer from virginia beach, va
This device is excellent. I needed to get a network connection to the 1st story of my house. I didn't want to use wireless due to the cost and the never ending arrival of new formats. I plugged these in and ran a connection from my router upstairs through the power lines to a hub downstairs. running off the hub I have a tivo and a ps2. Installation required no configuration at all. just plug in and it works.
awesome!!
also, I selected the free shipping and my order arrived the next day, simply amazing. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Works Great Monday, March 15, 2004 A Customer from New York, NY
I needed a way to get my RCA HDLP50W151 50 in. Projection Television (the TV comes with NetConnect™ - Ethernet with Microsoft Win CE® Operating System and Web Browser)connected to my network router 3 rooms apart. I found the XE102 to work very well. You'll need to buy two of them (buy.com had the best price with free shipping)one for each PC/TV. I just plugged it into the wall, hooked it up to my router and loaded the software in my PC. In the other room all I had to do was plug it into the wall run the ethernet cable to my TV and the software on my PC did the rest. I was surfing the net on my TV in minutes. I was afraid I was going to have to load the software on all PC on my network (can't load software on my TV) but that does not have to be done. The software on my PC detecded the other XE102 on my TV and made the connection. It's also fast with "Data Rate" running at about 10.16 Mbps, pages load as fast on my TV as on my PC. Forget running cables the XE102 works great. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Incredible Product Wednesday, March 10, 2004 alivcc from Palm Springs, Ca
I happen to be a systems engineer for multiple companies. I have been struggling with the wierdness of wireless products.
One of my clients needed a "decent" solution for the office, where cable could NOT be installed. I researched, read the reviews, and bought 6 of these guys. Installed them (no sorry) just plugged them in and wow, there it was. I have these at business (about 6 computers and a printer on print server)and homes. Netgear recommends no office, and away from copier etc, I disagree, it's better than they think.
So far I have bought 19 of these. All have worked GREAT. Now I do NOT leave home without it, as whereever,I need to distribute the signal, I throw a couple of these and the job is done.
Thanks Netgear for a wonderful product. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Product!! Thursday, February 12, 2004 JCW from Miami Beach, FL
This item worked 100% right out of the box. Setup was a breeze. In fact, I spent more time opening the box to remove the unit than actually setting it up. My two year old could of done it.
The Netgrear XE102 made it possible for me to add two more computers onto my existing 802.11b (Dlink router) wireless system without having to run any wires throughout the house. Unlike many other brands which require configuration and a computer geek to install, this one does not require any technical ability whatsoever.
I would recommed this product to anyone! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Yes - it really works easily, great... Friday, January 23, 2004 (a gadget freak) from Berkeley, Calif.
the only hitch was that to customize the password for my devices, I had to use/test with a Windows computer first. I then installed the units and use them with my Apple laptop. GREAT! And - great throughput. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Performs As Promised Friday, December 12, 2003 A Customer from Canyon Country, CA
I spent 10x more time upgrading my router firmware and signing up for Xbox LIVE! than I did connecting these babies. Simple as plugging in a lamp. I played Counter-Strike without lag or hassle. Great, great product. Was this review helpful?

I was sceptical reading the prior reviews but once I tried the product, I realized that all that was said about this product is true. It works right out of the box, no software, no messy configuration - just plug and play. Was this review helpful?

After reading the initial reviews I was still hesitant to believe that this product could do what it says it can do and with the ease that was stated. Wow, was I surprised! After struggling to make wireless signal boosters work and being very disappointed (are you listening Linksys?) this product not only met my expectations but exceeded them. I also found out that if you currently have a wireless adapter in your computer but cannot recieve a sufficient signal to connect to a wireless router the Netgear adapter signal is actually strenghthened by the wireless connection, no matter how weak it is. My connections were 10 mbps without the wireless card turned on and 12 mbps with it. Was this review helpful?

This product worked perfectly right out-of-the-box. After the problems I've had attempting to set up a wireless network at home, this was a pleasure. Was this review helpful?

This product works. We implemented this technology in our 40 room motel. We eliminated the need to run cat5 to all the rooms. Since we will never need all 40 rooms hooked to the internet at one time, we purchased 10 units to start with. If demand grows, we will simply buy units as needed. This was a huge savings in capital outlay. All of our customers that have connected to the internet using one of these bridges have been very pleased. This product works and works well. I am moving out of my office upstairs into a new office in our garage and didn't want to deal with the hassle of drilling holes in walls to run new cabling. Wireless wasn't working that great so I picked up 3 of these for my network.
I plugged one into my router, plugged the other 2 into various open plugs in the house and I was done. Truly that simple, and as easy as turning on your computer after you have plugged them in. I am getting transfer rates anywhere between 8 and 13 Mbps, Unbelievable!
I am in IT for a living and haven't ever seen a networking install go easier. Was this review helpful?
