5 of 5 Super Fast, I dont need the Wi-Fi anymore. Thursday, March 27, 2008 A Customer from Las Vegas, NV
I bought one to test, ended up buying another 4 (5 in total) AMAZING!
works perfectly tested the speed with a PC connected to the HDX101 and then tested the speed plugged directly to my Linksys modem, Cam out the same speed. (takes longer to unpack the packaging then to install) its a true plug and play. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Beats Wireless Easy...No Competition Wednesday, November 28, 2007 A Customer from Corona, CA
Pros: Easy, super-fast, reliable----
Cons: Runs hot---
In a house with modern power wiring, wireless is a waste of time. This worked amazingly well from day one. My internet connectivity going out hits avg real world speeds of 13 mbs, and my upload at 5mbs. I have Verizon Fios which makes these speeds possible, and with wireless Fios was wasted. With these I can tap its true potential. It really is as easy as plugging it into the wall. I haven't had any problems with it for a long while now.
The only caveat is that it runs hot. This has never caused problems and has never burnt out. But I would have prefered it to run cooler.
Note: If you set up encryption on your network, make sure to return the network to factory defaults before adding any new adapters. A non-factory default encrypted network will fail to find any new adapters added. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 The best Wednesday, April 04, 2007 Joe from NYC, NY
It's simple. You plug one directly into the wall plug near your router. From an open router port you plug into the adapter. Plug the other into any outlet and you have internet via ethernet cord. I have speeds higher than wireless at 100mbs per second which is the full capacity of my router. It's netgear router to adapter. It works perfectly with my slingbox pro, which I bought it for. I purchased another one (item) above because i wanted one in my room for my laptop since it's better than wireless (54mbps). You need the kit which includes two which buy.com carries as well at about twice the price above. Was this review helpful?
