5 of 5 Linux compatible, No bull just works. Sunday, April 20, 2008 Chauvin,chauvinemmons@yahoo.com from MI,AZ
I bought this wireless adapter because it just works.
I use Ubuntu Linux 7.1 and it is totally compatible without using any further drivers, You must manually insert correct security settings and password as usual with any router or similar device.
Any idiot that tells you it wont connect to there network (Comcast or SBC) is just lazy, Linux is a total network operating system in my opinion more solid than MS. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 It works...sniff...sniff Thursday, April 05, 2007 A Customer from Eau Claire WI
Easy to install, works as expected. I'm not using SuperG mode. I wasn't sure if it would work for network monitoring as the WAG511 was known for. I'm using aircrack-ng and it worked well for me. Was this review helpful?

I read the reviews for other brands and was absolutely scared that I would have a nightmare installing this thing, thinking they were all the same. They evidently are not. This adapter is a thing of beauty. I'm running Windows 2000 and the installation was simple and flawless. I installed the drivers and utility first, as per the instructions, then shut down the machine and installed the card. As soon as I powered up the PC again, the adapter found my router and connected to it automatically. That's all there was to it. Signal pick-up is good, too. I absolutely recommend this one. I got 2 of these to run with my WGT624. I had been running another adapter before, with adequate but hardly impressive throughput. These are a definite step up. The signal strength as measured by their utility is superior, and with the new XR firmware, I'm pulling in networks from all over the neighborhood. Files fly back and forth, and I have not experienced any drops in service. The new XR stuff did totally trash my 2.4 Ghz phone, however: had to upgrade to 5.8. If you are running SP2, you'll need the latest driver: otherwise, XP will crash on you sporadically. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Wonderful Product Sunday, October 24, 2004 A Customer from San Diego, CA
Installation is the easiest I have ever experienced. It found the router in no time and was up and running in under a minute! Was this review helpful?
