I should begin by saying that this is the first projector that I have ever personally owned. NEC has done an excellent job of creating a low-cost projector that many people can own. One question I have is why do people spend thousands of dollars to get a 50" tv that probably doesn't even have the same resolution of a projector when they can spend less than one thousand and get something that will give them just about any size tv they want. As a starting point since we didn't have a screen at the time we first got this, I placed it at the foot of a bed and aimed it at the ceiling. With about 25 degrees of the keystone correction, I was able to see an amazing image that was very good looking and almost directly above me while I lay down. When I was finished watching a movie, I measured it and found that the image I was projecting on the ceiling from the floor of an 8-foot ceiling room was 81"! The brightness is superb and that is in economy mode too! My personal opinion is that economy mode lowers the brightness so little that there is no reason to run it in normal mode. It shows the difference immediately when switched to economy mode and there is little difference. I also run the projector with high fan all the time in an attempt to keep the bulb cooler and extend its life. The only disappointment that I have is the fact that the menu is slow and does not display button presses immediately. This does not bother me very much, but it can be a bit irritating. Luckily, I only use the menu occasionally. Overall, I have NO regrets with my purchase. Now, I just have to do everything I can to extend the lamp life.
