5 of 5 NAVMAN PIN is GREAT!!!!! Thursday, March 02, 2006
    midas from wilbraham, MA

I was looking for a reliable GPS unit with ability to use USGS Topo maps and give traveling directions. I came upon the Navman PIN. The best of both worlds. GPS and computer! The price was a lot less than regular dedicated GPS units that couldn't even use USGS Topo maps!!!! Received the unit. Setup was a snap thanks to a previous users review instructions. Initial satellite fix took about 3 minutes. Typed in a destination and off I went. Voice turn by turn directions were most accurate. Getting me within 20 feet of my destination. Next loaded a Topo map to locate an old Boy Scout Camp. Hiked thru thru the woods following the GPS. The unit took me exactly to the camp. The computer portion is fabulous. Plays games, movies, Word, accesses the internet, etc. etc. I am well pleased with this machine. While traveling I don't use the windshield mount. I bought a leather case for the Navman and it fits perfectly on my rearview mirror. This marvel of technology is highly RECOMMENDED!!!!

    5 of 5 NavMan PIN 100 Friday, March 04, 2005
    ojones_jr_ from East Stroudsburg, PA
I bought the NavMan PIN 100 after reviewing all the feedback here. I tested a standalone GPS and found it to be lacking in comparison to the NAVMAN. I bought the 1G memory. I must say, that was an excellent suggestion. It loaded the entire east coast plus 4 short movies, and about 40 MP3's. I still have abouit 300meg left. A purchase well worth it. The fact that it is a PDA and GPS is incredible. Most GPS's alone cost what the PIN costs. Never mind trying to get a PDA. My thoughts on the SmartST (GPS software) are pretty good. I found the software to written by a foriegn programer. This is why there are issues with getting contacts from Outlook to work. Outlook asks for full address (Ex. 123 anywhere street). SmartST asks for street address, then house number on separate lines. That is why there is always invalid addresses when using outlook. In relation to SmartSt finding the right places, sometimes it will send you to a dead end street thinking it is a through street. If you go that route and turn around, SmartSt will redirect and take you the correct way. I was a amazed at it's re-routing ability. I missed an exit and SmartSt threw up the "?" and rerouted me. I had no problems getting to my destination. I am on my way to Virgnia Beach and will be taking my PDA\GPS with me! This is an excellent product, excellent buy, and an overall excellent piece of software! I highly recommend it!

5 of 5 Incredible Unit buy entire US maps won't fit in 1G Tuesday, March 01, 2005
    doug from Eaton OH
Here is my bit of advise... I bought the NAVMAN because it had the SD slot for expanding the memory. I wanted to configure my system once so I could carry the entire US in my pocket and never load and unload maps depending on where I was headed. I bought a 1GB SD Card but the entire US didn't fit on it. I haven't yet looked to see if there is any way to limit what is loaded, like eliminating certain types of points of interest, or eliminating the loading of just about every driveway off of every road (which is a level of detail this thing provides! no kidding, but surely takes up memory). I doubt it will. Anyway, here is my advise... Buy a 2GB SD Card. I also bought a SD Wireless Network Card with 256MB of memory made by SansDisk and plan to load my local area maps to it and be able to surf the Internet. Over all this is one incredible unit. Comes with every thing you need, short of memory, which is just fine. The quality is top notch. Windshield mount works great is well engineered and high quality. And finally, this unit is a full Windows Mobile 2003 PDA! Love it. (Purchased mine after getting lost in the docks in Newark, NJ as I attempted to get to the airport. This will never happen to me again.)

    5 of 5 absolutely great Thursday, February 24, 2005
    Kevin from Philadelphia, PA
When I first got the navman i had a few problems, but after a few days all the problems i had were with me not knowing how to use a pda. Now that i have it figured out this things does everything wonderfully. It is always dead on with the gps and the os is good, typical windows though i.e. have to do a soft reset everyonce in a while to get it to behave. I ordered my navman from this site and i chose the free shipping that supposed to take a week...it took 4 days from california(i live on the east coast) Great product highly recomend! For the price its a no brainer, think about it most PDA standalones cost this much, let alone a GPS unit.

5 of 5 Product Exceeds Expectations Tuesday, January 25, 2005
    Eric from Rochester Hills, Michigan
I have used my Navman PIN 100 for two months without any glitches. The flexibility of a PDA and GPS is outstanding. Using the GPS, I travel to Canada and the integration from the USA is seamless and incredibly accurate. The major components of the PDA I use daily include contacts, calendar, Avant Go for media updates and the MP3 player. Actually, I am still learning all the characteristics this unit has to offer. Considering the value, it's thumbs up for me.

This product does everything it is supposed to! The review from Jim says it all and with his tip on the loading I was up and running in no time. I bought the 1 GBSd as he suggested and downloaded 95% of the maps of the USA. Used if to cross from NJ to southern CA on 1st trip two days after rec'ing it with no problems Very satisfied !!!!!!!!!

5 of 5 The best invention ever! Thursday, November 11, 2004
    Jim from Fort Worth, TX
What a deal! A competent PDA that works just like any other $400 PDA, with the GPS built in, so I don't have to carry any attachments! If you buy a regular navigation system, it sits in your car (or is buried in your dashboard) and goes unused most of the time. With this unit, you have so many benefits: 1. you can move it from car to car, rental cars, motorcycle, bike, and walking. Imagine if you bought the nav option $1300 for each vehicle! 2. with it not being screwed to your car, you can set your routes in your house, at work, or anywhere when you have spare time. 3. It sync's with OUTLOOK's contact list... you have to manually type all your addresses into other nav systems. The only hard part is the setup because there are more than one instruction book and it is confusing. If you buy one, do these steps: 1. load the orange and yellow CD on your computer, called "companion CD". This allows navman to sync to the computer. 2. put the SD (memory card) into the navman. It auto loads the navigation software on the PDA and your computer. One more thing; the memory card that comes with it is small. Be sure to buy a 1GB SD card and it will hold all the maps you will ever need. Buy it now, because some maps are bigger than 32MB and you will be mad if you have to wait another week to even start playing with your new toy.
