5 of 5 Navigon 7200t Works GREAT! Friday, March 27, 2009 Bob from Colorado Springs, CO
I previously had a Navigon 7100 GPS unit which I liked very much. I gave that to my brother and wife and replaced it with the model 7200t. This one works very well also, but the voice recognizion feature is really cool. It has worked 100% of the time after setting it up for my voice. My wife tried it the other night and it also worked for her without having to make any adjustments for her voice.
We also like the traffic warning feature (FREE!) and the graphics of the display. Since the unit verbally announces where I need to turn next I do not need to watch the display while driving. It even says the address of my destination! Buy.co price was the best of anyone's.
All in all, AMAZING! Was this review helpful?
2 of 2 customers found this review helpful. 4 of 5 Lack of POI, but great performance Wednesday, March 04, 2009 Slava from Virginia
This is my third GPS. The previous two were GARMIN NUVI 2730 and 760 units. Compare to these two, Navigon has MUCH smaller POI database. There are no post office, no coffee shops, no small stores, no doctor offices, COSTCO or BJs. POI search can be challenging due to the confusing menu. The pairing of your phone is UNAVOIDABLE, due to lack of auto search function after the restart of the unit. Another annoying detail is each time you start the car you NEED to turn unit by pressing very little button(the Garmin do that automatically). Otherwise the unit is GREAT. Accurate guide, great function of reality view and 3D, easy address entry by hand or by voice( just "train" the unit properly), very fast search for the satellites, accurate traffic updates, EXCELLENT price(extra $50 on buy.com gave you THREE years of map updates). Garmin the one-year map cost more then that. Also the similar functioned NUVI 885T cast $700 instead of $300 for NAVIGON 7200T Was this review helpful?
3 of 5 7200 T - Good For The Money Tuesday, March 03, 2009 Todd from Holmdel, New Jersey
All great except I purchased this unit for the Bluetooth. It has it BUT- If you turn the Unit off you have to RE-PAIR with your phone. Pain IN THE S!! Navigon said to just let go into sleep mode, then you do NOT have to pair. OK but when the battery runs out you still have to pair. The maps are great the traffic is great, 3D view is Great. Navigon has a Great site and the latest update is current. You will have to pay for the Map updates in the future but 3 years is about 30.00 at amazon.
I have tested this unit in City-Country and Highway Driving and it is VERY accurate to the Foot! I would have given a highr rating in overall if bluetooth stayed paired. If you do NOT want to pair every time GET A GARMIN 765 is compairable BUT MORE EXPENSIVE! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excellent Product! Sunday, March 01, 2009 Rich from Michigan
This is my first gps device. It is very easy to setup and use! The navigation is spot on! Acquired the satellite signal in mere seconds! The spoken directions are crystal clear and volume is easy to adjust. I can't say enough about the display...don't buy a 3.5" unit. The 4.3" screen is awesome and the Reality Pro View is an excellent feature! I have not used the traffic alert yet but at least it is free for life with Navigon units!I highly recommend the Navigon 7200T pnd! Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Navigon 7200T Review Wednesday, December 03, 2008 Dennis from Spring Hill, Fl
Not knowing much about GPS's a friend and I researched among all the contenders and decided to buy Navigon 7200. Even though the price was discounted it is not substantially better than any of the others. The speak to capability is very limited, only for one starting navigation address and can't handle cross streets in spoken mode. I thought you could speak to control the screens before you speak in the start navigation address. The simulation of routes and the turn by turn go only to one leg of the trip so the whole trip (multiple route points) can't be simulated. Anyway, I could have bought the 7100 or another unit for less and enjoyed the essential features just as much. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excellent Product! Wednesday, November 19, 2008 Jim from Knob Noster, MO
This is the second GPS device I have owned (our other unit is a Lowrance IWay 500C). I purchased this unit for my wife to use on an upcoming trip. The Lowrance could not obtain a lock on satellite signals in our Pontiac Montana, but the Navigon had no trouble. The traffic alerts have worked as advertised on recent trips into Kansas City. The routing sometimes seams flaky, but on a recent trip to the Kansas City Airport, I drove the way I thought was fastest/optimal on the way there and followed the Navigon on the way back. We got back quicker. Trust the GPS, it knows where you are... Also, a traffic alert on the way back saved us some contruction headache. I researched this and other units before I committed to this one. To this point, I have not seen much in the way of the problems (I read about on other websites) others seemed to have with the product. My only two knocks, if you will, are that the bluetooth link sometimes does not reconnect in a timely fashion (working around this by disabling/re-enabling BT) and the Navigon Sync program for transfering contacts from MS Outlook to the unit is a little clunky, but once they are xfered, you can navigate to your contact's address in like 3 touches of the screen. Voice address input surprisingly accurate and the lane assistant/exit guide is very cool. Was this review helpful?
