| | Motown Recording Artists, Boyz II Men, (Nathan Morris, Michael McCary, Shawn Stockman, Wanya Morris), in the few years that they have been singing together as a group, have made pop music history. Their debut album, released in 1992, titled "Coolleyhighharmony," sold over 12 million copies and stayed on Billboard's Pop charts for well over a year. Their single, "End of the Road," taken from the "Boomerang" Soundtrack, was one of the biggest selling singles of all time, surpassing Elvis Presley's "Heart Break Hotel," for length of stay at #1 on the charts. "End of the Road," stayed on the Pop charts at #1 for a record 13 weeks. Their second album "Boyz II Men II," debuted as the #1 album in the United States and yielded several chart hits, including: "I'll Make Love to You," which remained on the Pop chart, at #1, for 14 weeks, surpassing the record set by their own, "End of the Road" and, tying the all-time record with "I Will Always Love You," recorded by Whitney Houston. Their professional success is phenomenal which is reflected in the number of sales for "Cooleyhighharmony" and "Boyz II Men II": 40 million copies, world-wide. Their Christmas album titled, "Christmas Interpretations," released in December, 1993, is certified multi-platinum and sales are steadily increasing.

The countless boy bands that sprang up in their wake all owe a huge debt to the Boyz. Here, they return to reclaim the world they helped to make from the hands of their younger disciples. | | While there are a few concessions to the times (for instance, the Latin tinge to the "What's the Deal" and the opener "Beautiful Women"), the group sticks mostly to their well-established strengths; soulful, gently funky tunes powered by sweet harmonies and propelled by sensual, gently undulating rhythms. This is makeout music first and foremost. The in-your-face hooks and production of other groups are not for these guys; they'd rather usher you gently into the bedroom and whisper sweet nothings over a quietly insistent backbeat. | Engineer: Jim Bottari; Durrell Bottoms; Anne Catalino; Alex Rodriquez; Jim Hinger; Ray Lubrana; Robert Fernandez; Serban Ghenea; Tony Sheppard; Alex Rodriguez |
