4 of 5 Naruto Ultamate Ninja game review Wednesday, August 16, 2006
Kevin from CT

Umm, let me see, me and my friend loved the game, in multiplayer mode. We also enjoyed the story mode but wish that each story was longer and covered all of the major battle up into after Naruto fights Garaa after the Chunin exams! We loved the multi tiered levels but the different sections (background, foreground, ect.) got a bit annoying when the CPU or my friend would go, then I would go, and so on. But the big thing I would suggest is more people!!!!! Gai would be a nice addition, as well as Jiraiya and the rest of the Rookie Nine (Kiba, Choji, Ino, ect) as well as Tenten and Kabuto. The two things that I didn't like were the missions and the Ryo machines; most of the missions wordings were a bit hard to understand, most of the missions outcomes were out of our control (3 stage changes need to appear or u have to get certain items), some of the missions were just plain impossible (can't attack on land, beat in 30 counts w/ out specials, ect), did not like the random Super Smash Bros. Melee type of lottery, and most of the prizes just plain sucked, but I understand the limited amount of extra content that was available. Also, these are true for all fighting games, all of the characters were not balanced (Sakura and Hinata were really weak and Cursed Mark Sasuke was just plain ridiculous, but I have yet to unlock Demon Naruto, who sounds like the only one who could go up against Curse Mark Sasuke and have the fight be fair, which is still not a good enough reason that they should not be balanced, Biakugan is just plain ridiculous, Sharninggun is ok, and Rock Lee's special status is not very good) and there were times where me and my friend just threw the controller down when the other got in a level 3 special while we were guarding, in the air, ect. Also the additional attack moves are good against a CPU but against a real player u loose every time u pull one off, a way it could be balanced is give the tie to the current loosing character or just have the tie go to the one who pulled it off. But lastly and most importantly all of the characters played the same, except of course Garaa. The game designers should have put more effort into it, they should have at least tried to copy the characters fighting styles or given each character a special move besides the chakara moves. For example they could have given Naruto the ability to make a Shadow Clone or given Shikamaru the ability to use some of his shadow jutsus. But on a whole the game is pretty solid, I am very much looking forward to the next installment.

A Gamer from Illinois
Naruto Ultimate NInja is a great games based on the popuar anime series. This game allows you to use ninjutsu, genjutsu, and thaijutsu as you battle it out as twelve different Naruto characters. This games is fun to play if difficult at times. I play it a lot which shows just how much I like it.

4 of 5 It's an Unlockable-palooza! Tuesday, August 01, 2006
NaviUser from New Hampshire
After playing the NGC Clash of the Ninja game, I was hoping for something a little better from the upcoming PS2 release. I got it. Not only are there more playable characters, but thousands of unlockables through the Prize Machine! Seriously, more unlockables than you can shake a shuriken at! I loved the different spin the game took on traditional fighters by adding items and destruction points to each stage. However, with the good comes the bad. I was a little disappointed to find that in order to unlock Hinata as a playable character, I'd first have to play through Neji's scenario. Plus, I was hoping Kiba would be a playable character this time around. I guess there's always next time, right? Overall, this is a great game!

4 of 5 Let's Fight!!! Monday, July 31, 2006
A Gamer from California, Sherman Oaks
In this game are all of your favorite characters from the T.V show we all love Naruto. You will be able to play as 12 ninjas in the game with amazing fighting skills and special moves. The modes of this game feature a scenario mode to follow the storyline of the ninjas and there is also a mission mode where you can increase your rank as a ninja. Lastly there is a 2-player mode where you can battle all your friends. If you have a PS2 and love fighting games I suggest you get this game.

Great wonderful game, but the graphics are if'fy. They need to lose the weird look and take a different look. But, I bought this game because of its gameplay. : )
