4 of 5 For the price of $60, CANNOT be beat Saturday, July 05, 2008 william from chicago, IL
This type of technology isn't new, but it also isn't mainstream. I've seen these kinds of devices, going for hundreds of dollars, and didn't want to take a chance at those prices. But this one I couldn't pass up. To sum, this device is PERFECT for long flights or long drives but you better have a way of charging your iPod inbetween viewings, as this thing quickens your batter drain. The screen allows you to see video clear enough, but it is NOT the same thing as sitting in front of an actual TV as these manufacturers claim. But TV's cannot go where this thing can! The edges surrounding the image have a slight "halo" to them which I found annoying but I did get used to. Also, the sound was slightly louder in one ear than the other-- no matter what I played-- which was also annoying but liveable. The noise cancellation worked nicely, and there is good peripheral vision around the image (which is not good if you want to block out everything but the image). It only plugs in to iPods, so if you don't have one this unit is not for you. Bottom line is that this is a neat toy, and for the price compared to others like it-- cannot be beat! 3 of 5 Works as Advertised Tuesday, July 01, 2008 James Gerber from Voorhees, NJ
The product consists of goggles that plug into your iPod with attached earphones. There is no adjustment for focus so if you need glasses, you might have to shell out $$$ for an adapter for prescription lenses since you can't wear glasses while using it. I am farsighted and need glasses for close work but I could see the image perfectly so that might not be a problem for you.
The picture is like a 27" TV from 6 feet which is not huge but since the iPod resolution is only 320x240, you wouldn't want a bigger image anyway!
You have to change the iPod settings for video so it will play video through the external port and that is probably what tripped up some of the reviewers. I guess they don't read instructions! If you still get an image from your iPod, you set it wrong!!!
I wouldn't have spent $200 for it but it's a good value at the current price. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Impress your friends! Monday, June 30, 2008 Janae from Santa Clara, CA
People can gripe all they want about the short-comings of this gadget, but there's nothing else out there like it and it works like it says. My friends and family thought it kicked ass...
If you want to buy the battery pack that's compatible with it, you gotta email Myvu.
If you wear glasses (it's better with contacts), you can get an attachment for that as well...
This is a fun toy. And for this price, you can afford to just enjoy it simply.
***For those having issues making it work, read the instructions! It's for iPod video only (unless you get the adaptors for other players on Myvu's website) and you have to switch your TV-Out setting to ON (Under Video Settings)... People only prove their stupidity when they don't read the instructions and then assume something is broken.*** Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Possible solution for those that are not getting v Friday, June 27, 2008 Tom from Clovis Ca
I ordered one of these but I dont have it yet. I was reading the manual and thought that perhaps the two reviewers that were not getting a picture should make sure that they go to the video menu in the Ipod and set the ipod to tv out. It must be on to get the video to work. This may or may not be the solution to get yours to work, but a possibility. Was this review helpful?

Bought mine a month ago when Buy.com had it in stock as a present for my son. Gave it to him last week, and it doesn't work - I get sound, but no picture. Buy.com won't warranty it since I went 14 days after purchase, and I can't find ANY support info for MyVu. eMail addy in documentation bounces. My son's iPod is a Gen5. It just doesn't work. My Grandson loves to watch movies on my ipod when we go on trips which I don't mind. Anyhew he is graduating from 8th grade so I bought him this and he loves it; thinks it looks great and the movies come through really good. Me, I wear glasses so I cant tell you anything about it other than I set up a buy.com credit card with the deal and got 30 bucks off as well. Can't beat that! He's happy and Im happy. The viewfinder has a good TV-like reception. It's like watching a movie on a 42-inch TV. Sound quality is good, and it also does a good job of cancelling outside noise once you put the earphones. I'm happy with this product. I would recommend it. Was this review helpful?
