Author Bio
Tracy Hickman
Born in Salt Lake City, the son of a professor, Tracy Hickman attended Brigham Young University. After a missionary stint in Indonesia, Hickman had a few career flirtations, eventually working for several years in theatres (both "legitimate" and cinemas) until the early 1980s when he began to work as a game designer TSR, Inc., the home of the role-playing game DUNGEONS & DRAGONS. The success of that game inspired TSR to develop news games, one of which was DRAGONLANCE, on which Hickman was one of the early designers. In the mid-1980s, with the new game ready to hit the market, Hickman and Margaret Weis wrote the first of a number of related novels--the pair wrote the first six books in the series, which eventually stretched to well over 100 novels, inspiring other, spin-off series as well as other games. Hickman subsequently wrote additional entries in the Dragonlance series as well as several unrelated novels. He also continued to develop new games.

The stars try to speak-a murmuring of stardust on a wind that I cannot feel. I ignore them. They never say anything of consequence. They babble incessantly about the past and say nothing of the future. Their conce
