| Author Bio| Marguerite Henry | | Marguerite Henry's books focus on the strong bonds between humans and animals. She published her first story when she was 8, and the check she received for that story helped her to decide to become a full-time author. Henry attended the University of Wisconsin, and she continued to sell articles to magazines and published 16 informational books for children. Her 1945 work, JUSTIN MORGAN HAD A HORSE, was named a Newbery Honor Book, as was her 1947 book MISTY OF CHINCOTEAGUE. The following year, Henry's KING OF THE WIND won the Newbery Medal. |
