In the past, I've owned a noisy HEPA only filter. Also bought those Ionic cleaners with the UV bulb. Shelled out $500 for just one of those. They're OK, but they really don't move the air.. This unit combines ALL of the air cleaning methods. AND- it's surprisingly quiet. Very happy with the air cleaner and it arrived promptly. I'll be ordering additional units soon!
