    not pretty much sure how people vote 4 for this item... i get my msi wind here and right after 2 weeks, there are 2 white spots on the screen what's even worse, 2 keys peeling off from the keyboard... i called numerous times to the customer service of msi and finally get my keyboard fixed. but the problem with the screen remains...

    Iv'e had my msi wind for 6 months and i can safely say its a joy to use. At first you can be a little hesitant by the screen size but, you get used to it and after awhile all other laptops seem oversized and clunky. It's very fast and easy to upgrade to 2gb (and only cost $10) . Iv'e ran 3 operating systems and they all work splendidly OS X, XP, Ubuntu. Also these have to be some of the loudest speakers iv'e heard on a laptop, Dont let the size fool you! Great laptop and now its only $299 when i bought it was $349 (but it was worth it, and i would do it again!) You wont be disappointed.

    We bought it for my 12 year old son for school and homework and he has done wonderfully with it. It's size is perfect for his backpack and it holds a charge for long enough to get through several classes with Word open to take notes. After homework is done, he can surf the net or play games without using our other computer. Overall, it's great.

    I bought this for my wife to use for web browsing, etc. She is not a heavy duty user and we have other PCs for more serious computing. The choice was between a "Net book" mini laptop or a lower end full size. I decided to go with the mini because of price and portability. So far this one has done the job very well. The built in wireless has good range and reception. The boot up is fairly fast and most basic tasks including word processing are handled as quickly and efficiently as with a full size. The webcam is actually very good with this unit. The smaller display takes some getting used to. It is very sharp and clear (actually better than my Dell 14") but you do not see as many lines displayed so there is a lot more scrolling required when viewing web pages. The keyboard is nearly full sized, but there is definitely a difference. I find that typing is a little difficult, but a person can get used to it with a little practice. Summary: For web browsing and lightweight computing this is fine. It is very portable and light so it will travel well. It seems to be built very solidly. I would not recommend anything smaller than this (10” screen). The MSI seems to be the best bargain of the mini notebooks.
