4 of 5 Handy Cam Sunday, January 04, 2009
Bruce Newell from Sewickley, PA

We took Our new camera with us to visit 12 of our 27 grandkids over Christmas. The camcorder was the most useful feature. It was easy to use, took satisfactory movies with sound. We were able to hook right up to Great Grandma's TV and show her the movies we took. It took awhile to figure out how to select the playback scenes. The directions are barebones but adequate. You have to buy the new SD card (Radio Shack has them) to take stills. It takes a little doing to get the light right on stills. The flash is not reall powerful enough to get bright pictures indoors. All in all the camera is an exceptionally good value!

4 of 5 Small Thursday, January 01, 2009
pb4045 from San Jose, CA
The service needs a big improvement. After10 business days I still wasn’t able to get status online; the site says if email they would reply within 24 hours but after two emails didn’t get a reply until 5 days later. By then the shipment has just shipped. It was purchased for Christmas gift but only a few days away from Christmas Eve before I got the reply form Buy.com. Good price but limited usage in darker conditions.

5 of 5 A Good Buy For The Price Wednesday, December 31, 2008
Dan from wa
I like the camera, it takes nice pictures at the 8 mega pixel how ever you can only take 7 pictures at 8 mega pixels with the 16 meg of memory on the camera so if you are going to buy one make sure you get a sd card at the same time. I got a sd card from here for $8.00, even with having to buy the sd card the camera is a good buy at the price

poor quality pictures, flash for camera is not sync'd properly, and goes off after the picture is taken.

4 of 5 Digital Camcorder- a good buy! Wednesday, December 31, 2008
A Customer from Red Bank, NJ
I bought this for my 12 year old son and he LOVES it! He figured out how to use it all on his own. The videos look a little dark to me when you are indoors- not near a light. It IS very light weight, seems cheap, but it works just fine. It is very small and fits in my sons front pocket. Comes with a mini case too. You really need to buy a sandisk. I bought an 8GB although a 4GB is probably fine. It does need batteries too that were replaced after less than a week. If you get this product for a cheap price like I did, it really is a good buy and great first camcorder.

3 of 5 You Get What You Pay For Wednesday, December 31, 2008
A Customer from Kent, WA
I have found that by turning the brightnes controls all the way up I can get a passible picture in lower light. In bright daylight you can get a good picture. At no time is the picture very sharp or completely in focus. It is easy to use after some playing around with the settings. It may be advertised with a 8x digital zoom but you would not want any picture that is taken at that setting. To blurry and out of focus. Lots of jitter. It is not rechargable and uses 3 ea AAA batteries. Probably a good first camera for a child.

4 of 5 Not Bad for $60.00 Tuesday, December 30, 2008
A Customer from Cleveland, OH
Decent video camera for $60.00. An SD card (up to 4GB) is a must. Not good in low light, but so far so good.

4 of 5 Cute!!! Tuesday, December 30, 2008
Diane from Egg Harbor Township, NJ
The 8 MegPixel MoviePix still/video camera is an adorable digital camera for the price, and can deliver fair pictures and okay video. The big advantage is its cost and ease of use. Pay close attention to the product guide, and you'll be creating videos or taking still pictures quickly - especially if you have a 2GB SD memory card handy. The 16MB won't get you very far. The detractors are, digital zoom vs. optical zoom; limited to 2GB memory cards and no high capacity cards (SDHC not gonna happen with this camera); the video trails the audio more than noticeably. If you're looking for a real video camera, something that will record things that you will treasure, this may not be the camera for you. If you want to break into movie production, this isn't the camera for you. But for still pictures and an occasional video, like a birthday party or the kid's sports games, then this will do nicely. It has its quirks, but all in all, a nice little camera!

Good transaction. Only negative was that it wasn't made clear that this devise was battery operated rather than rechargable.

5 of 5 Till Camera, Video Recorder, Reasonable Price Tuesday, December 30, 2008
Sam Barnes from Philadelphia, Pa
This product is a very good buy for someone who is not up to date on the modern technologies. It does everything it has been represented to do with ease of use. In the beginning there are problems figuring out how to use the seperate functions because the function buttons are so small and hard to read, but once you know where they are, it's much easier. Overall a good product at a reasonable price.

3 of 5 Nice video cam but... Tuesday, December 30, 2008
Morty Ho from San Remo, NY
The product is great for the price of $60.00. Construction is a bit shabby. 8 MP YES but, it is very difficult to take still pictures without a camera shake. Lots of good features but also missing a lot (eg: view finder and anti shake protection). Read the specs carefully. Printed instructions are really BAD NEWS. Very small print and extremely difficult to follow for two reasons 1) Incomplete and written with lots of typos. 2) Very poor English and bad layout. Customer service is located in Canada and communications in English is trying and some times down right difficult. Return policy sucks. Customer is responsible for freight charges both ways. Generally, if you have time and patience and like the challenge of figuring out details, it a good (Not a great) deal.

4 of 5 Good basic MPEG camera Tuesday, December 30, 2008
A Customer from Richmond, Vermont
This small and light camera takes very good movies in relatively good light, but is more limited in darker conditions. The camera also will conventiently take still photos, but I find my Canon A570 superior for that purpose. It was advertised as accommodating a 2GB SD card, but it actually will take a 4, which is a real plus. Transfering pictures and movies to my laptop has been very easy. The camera seems to burn batteries at a rapid rate, and I will try using rechargeables to see how that works. On balance, this is a good camera for the money.

5 of 5 Remarkable Value Tuesday, December 30, 2008
A Customer from San Jose, CA
This camera was purchased as a gift for a budding teenage videographer. What has been surprising is its performance and the ease of use of the software (once we figured out just to load images from the camera as a folder, not as a camera). Image quality in well-lit conditions is very good, the flash works well at close range, and the video recording/audio pickup is very reasonable. The camera is very compact and light making it easy to handle. The images are stored in a proprietary formats but the software saves out in more common formats such as jpeg and AVI.

4 of 5 OK for the price Tuesday, December 30, 2008
Greg S from Peyton, CO
This is a not a bad little video camera if you can get it for less than $60. I've taken a few videos and the quality is pretty good, but of course with a camera like this, lighting is key, so outdoor video in bright light is better than indoor video. I haven't been happy with the camera feature of this unit though - all the pictures have been blurry, so with no image stabilization, you will probably need a tripod to get a good picture out of it. Its really simple to use, and takes an SD card, so to transfer off video to computer is easy too, and it takes video in .avi format that my pc recognized without any problem.

4 of 5 Price is Good Tuesday, December 30, 2008
Hidayat from Carbondale, Illinois
This product on the basis of Price & Performance is Good, the only bad thing is that it seems like a Toy as the materials for the product are not as good, all the time you will need to take care of it i.e. like PVC

4 of 5 NO SD MEMORY CARD INCLUDED Tuesday, December 30, 2008
Bob from Wayne, IL
The only thing that I would have liked was to have the SD memory card included. It said nothing that you needed a SD card for memory. Now I have to hunt all over to find a card at a deal. Maybe I should have paid a little more and picked up a unit that comes with everything you need...right out of the box!

5 of 5 Great camera for the price ($50) Tuesday, December 30, 2008
Rusty from McLoud, OK
I bought this to have a camera that was easy to carry around. It comes on fast and is ready in seconds. It works great if you do not try to zoom. It has digital only zoom - becomes very pixilated if zooming in. Color is good. Takes both still and video. My other camera is a Canon GL2, and no the quality doesn't compare. If you want broadcast quality spend $3000 or more, however, for a simple point and shoot video/still camera with an easy to use interface that fits in any pocket this is just the ticket. I am very satisfied with the purchase.

5 of 5 Great Value. Tuesday, December 30, 2008
Barry from San Marcos, TX
It's a great little video camera. For the price, the quality is terrific. The instructions leave a little to be desired. Operation is not totally intuative, however, with a little persistance it can be mastered. Bottom line ... I would certainly recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a 'no frills' video camera.

5 of 5 Entered Digital Video Recording at a Great Price! Monday, December 29, 2008
Dave from Farmers Branch, TX
It's not HD or just below HD but it works like a Champ. I put a 2GB SD card in it for $5.00 and powered it with 3 NiMH 1200 mahr rechargeable AAA batteries. DVing the family's Christmas I got over an hours worth of video and the batteries lasted through that plus showing playbacks on the camera and transferring the video to my PC for editing. Some optical zoom would be nice (only has digital zoom), but the video is pleny sharp if you don't go above 3x. And inside the case that came with it, it's about the size of a pack of cigarettes--perfect for a shirt pocket. The ONLY thing missing on the DV-80 is a place to mount it on a tripod.
