The remote is a little ugly; like something from the 70s or 80s. Would be nice if you could configure the volume to control the TV only (it's a bit annoying to keep pressing PC, TV, PC, TV..).
All in all, surfing the web with this thing rocks! Controls TV and PC well. Keyboard is great. No problems with reception. Was this review helpful?

I bought this remote/keyboard combo for a Home Theater PC I just built. It works great. No drivers needed to run J. River Media Center 12. I installed the software and the Gyration took over just like it was made for it. I easily programed the IR function to the codes for my Samsung 40" LCD and HDTV cable box. The RF keyboard and PC remote functions work excellent because you don't have to point them. On the other hand the IR functions are really weak. You have to point them almost directly at the TV or cable box. This is the only negative I have found with it. I got a super price of $100 when I bought mine but it is still a good value at its present price. It eliminated a lot of my worries when I built my HTPC and makes all the functions of it and my HDTV work smoothly. A great item.
Note: I used Windows XP Pro & Media Center 12 for my HTPC. I did not use Vista or Windows MCE because I did not want Microsoft messing with my machine with their clumsy controlling software. I am very glad I didn't because my machine does everything I wanted. Was this review helpful?

The keyboard & remote are well built and easy to use. Set-up was a snap - just plug in the receiver and synch the two devices and you are off! The gyro-mouse feature of the MCE remote is simply brilliant! It feels just like using a laser pointer with your mouse-pointer being the dot! It doesn't quite replace a mouse when it comes to the precision, but it is about as close as anything I've used. Overall, this kit is great - pretty much worth the money! Was this review helpful?

This thing works great, no line of site required for the keyboard or mouse functions because they are RF. They work quite a ways away too. No drivers to install is a nice bonus as well. TV and other functions that normally use IR remotes obviously are still IR and do require line of site. I bought this for my HTPC setup I was building and I couldn't be happier with it at this point.
