I had a SB5100 modem and upgraded to this with Cox Cable. They will not finish upgrading to DOCSIS 3.0 for about 6 months from what the technician said. I just unplugged the old one and plugged the new one in and let it initialize. I still had to call Cox and give them the addresses of the modem though. That took more time than anything. Mainly because the technician was asking me about the modem and where I got it. He said Cox had just put this one on their supported list (I already checked that). After we got it running (WOW) he wanted me to go to speakeasy and run a test from the Dallas and Chicago servers to see what it did. It downloaded 27,000Kbps and uploaded 5100+Kbps. He said he had heard this modem was coming out but he didn't think it had yet. He was asking me more questions than I was asking him. I gave him all the information about Buy.com and what I paid for it and he was going to get one the next day. He said my speed should slowly increase as Cox upgrades to 3.0 but that I am ready. With my brand new Canon MX860, printing is simple, no wires, faxing , scanning, just about anything I need to do from my computer or laptops.... anywhere in my place! Just lovin' it! Worth every penny! And the inks are so much cheaper than eh hem (HP). When it prints, you can't even tell.... it's that quiet! Was this review helpful?
