3 of 5 Good Headphones but unreliable for gym use Thursday, July 10, 2008
    Mark from Elmira, NY

These headphones are a good value for the price as long as you dont use them for the gym. They sound good considering they are bluetooth, they dont match the quality of my wired headset (v-moda bass freq), but they definitely sound good. The synching process is a little annoying at times, because sometimes I found myself taking the Bluetooth adapter out and putting it back in several times before the devices were connected properly, but thats only a minor issue in my opinion. Another issue, that I found to be a little annoying (if you plan on working out/lifting weights with these headphones) is that while doing bench presses, since the headphones wrap around the back of your neck, the headphones are forced against your neck, which can be a little annoying, but i was able to get used to this as well. Now on to my major gripe with these headphones....If you do plan on using them for working out, or any activity where you will sweat a lot, the sweat leaks into the headphones which causes the headphones to short out and not work properly after some time. The controls on the headphones for volume, and next/previous track stop working. You can still hear the music, but since the only way to control the volume is on the headphones, this makes the headphones worthless. I went through 2 pairs of these headphones and after 2-3 months each pair shorted out while I was running on the treadmill. I was extremely dissapointed since these were supposed to be "sport" headphones, and thought they would have a sweatproof design. Obviously, they dont. However, if you plan on using these headphones for non-sweaty situations, i would say these headphones are great sounding, great value, and pretty comfortable as well.

very good product, the first time using it can be confusing, but you get use to it. it cuts out for the first few times but it gets better. sound quality rocks (i would know, i'm a sound engineer) great for working out or just doing paperwork with both hands & don't want a cord in the way. good job Motorola, another winner it works with my LG Shine too

    1 of 5 Poor Design Tuesday, April 15, 2008
    orthopa95 from hagerstown, md
Have had two pairs of these in 5 months; they are supposed to be specifically for those who excercise but neither pair held up to the sweat! They short out at some point while in use and the volume progesses to the lowest setting and you CANNOT get it to increase. Waste of money

    Lazy Audiophile from Seattle, WA
Had the S9/D560 for approximately 2 months now & have been using it weekly. RECEPTION/PERFORMANCE: I've seen better reception on some other bluetooth headsets, but for headphones, this one isn't bad. It sometimes cuts out when you put it in a pocket or have an object (not a wall, a desk/chair/counter) separating you from the iPod. The only other problem I've had is that sometimes when you first connect the two devices, the playback skips consistently & A LOT. There's an easy way to fix this though, just resynchronize the two (devices) again. In regards to the D650 iPod adapter, my minor gripe about it is that if it fails to connect to the S9 on the first try, you have to pause it, pull the adapter out, put it back in, then press play and attempt to resynch it to your headphones AGAIN. Rinse & repeat until you get it. SOUND QUALITY: Sound quality is better than I was expecting for sport-phones. I've heard a few complaints that the volume can't be adjusted loud enough, but I've only found this to be true in a few situations (like the bus). I never had a problem w/the sound quality itself other than the bass being a bit low (but that's to be expected for sport-phones). FIT: I think I'm in the minority on this one, but I often run into the issue where the back of my headphones seem to slip down until they're practically resting on the back of my neck, at which time I have to readjust them (they're supposed to hover ~1-2" over the back of your neck). This may just be due to my long hair (which covers my ears and falls to my shoulders) which causes the headphones to slip, but for a product this expensive you'd think that Motorola would have found a fix for this. Another thing you'll want to watch out for is that you cannot lay down/back while wearing these (b/c of the way they sit). Wearing a hood is also sometimes a problem, as it collides with the back and pushes the headphones down.
