2 of 5 Uncomfortable, quit working Wednesday, November 04, 2009 A Customer from San Diego, Ca
I bought these to use for both phone calls and music. Pairing was easy and it functioned basically as expected. Sound quality was fine, but it is not comfortable. Because of comfort, I didn't use it much. After a a few months, with only several hours of actual use, one side quit working so I threw them out. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great headset Friday, October 23, 2009 george from hudson, oh
Purchased from a big-box store and paid $20 more than the buy.com price, but still well-worth it. Love the convenience of BT, and the fidelity is great. I have had some temporary disconnect problems when putting the source device (Blackberry 8330) in my front pants pocket, but usually not a big issue--rarely results in a total disconnect, more like a temporary "skip." Works almost flawlessly if I carry place the Blackberry in my front shirt pocket. Three of the folks I've showed it to purchased one the same day they saw mine. For battery life, after having "trickle" charged it overnight, it lasted 8 hours of almost continuous use. Would rate my experience using it as a phone headset as a 6/10--I hear the other party VERY well, and only had a few "sounds like you're on a speakerphone" complaints. Does experience wind noise. Ear buds have a slight tendency to come off, but I haven't lost any yet. If lost or stolen, I will certainly replace as soon as I can. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Terrific headset for iPhone Wednesday, July 22, 2009 Alan from State College, PA
These headsets are the sleeper of the bluetooth products. I had been using the older S9 model with great results but this new version is even better.
Main differences:
- No red stripe. Less visible on head
- Softer interior coating against skin
- More prominent control buttons. Easier to find and push
- SRS audio enhancement. Greatly improves sense of width and bass in audio. Selectable on headset.
Used this with iPhone 3GS. Paired perfectly first time and iPhone and headset find each other every time. Keep iPhone 3GS in leather holster or pocket and it keeps a very strong connection - never drops.
(BTW: I also never had any trouble with the S9 and my iPhone 3GS. Not sure what troubles other posters are having but I walked to work every day for several blocks and never dropped once.)
Very comfortable behind the head ear hooks. Never notice it on my head. Comes with 3 extra sets of rubber ear sets (and 1 on phone) to fit every size. High quality silicon rubber fit perfect in my ear.
Very high volume power. Used them while mowing lawn and easily heard over noise. Blocks external noise nicely although not quite as much as an in ear canal earphones.
Takes a bit of practice to get to hook onto ear. Manual has tips on how to swing it down. Maintains shape - you can't bend it to shape but it does flex to fit head.
Only used it a couple of times for phone but it worked OK. Mic is in left ear jack so it is a bit far from mouth.
Charges with included AC adapter and micro Type A USB jack. Also charges from USB port if you have the proper cable (not included). Can not comment on battery life.
All in all a very fine product and a steal at the price offered. For folks looking for a cheaper item, the S9 works almost as well lacking the SRS audio enhancement. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 amazing base, long battery Tuesday, July 14, 2009 Adam from OC, CA
I use these with a BlackBerry Pearl 8130. I use these to listen to Slacker radio on the BalckBerry, and to MP3's. The base on these is louder and a lower frequency response than I have ever heard in a pair of headphones. Battery life is excellent, I have used them 4.5 hours without a charge and they were still going strong; I think the 6 hour estimate of battery life is probably accurate. I cannot control the media player with the headphones controls but that's a limitation of my phone. The microphone may be a little weak to use to hold a conversation; my assistant says the mic quality on a call s a 3/10. I don't really care to use them this way, BB can use the phone mic to speak and bT headphones to listen, this will work fine. These headphones have awesome sound quality and HUGE BASS!!! The only flaw with these, is that you cant use them outside, or youll get alot of skipping, hanging due to bluetooth interference.
They work great indoors, but the main reason I use headphones is to have music away from home and the truck.
I wouldnt reccomend these for anything but indoor use. Was this review helpful?

I got the ROKR HD for my Blackberry Bold and it's the best head phones ever. Wireless at the gym, wireless on the phone, can't beat it. Sound quality is great, good bass! The BB Bold already have A2DP, so I didn't need that additional adaptor required for apple products. It took a day or two to get use to, but after that, I forget they are even on. I would avoid this product if at all possible. They simply do not work in any large open air environment - i.e. the connection to your bluetooth device is frequently dropped and continually reset. By large open air I mean at the Gym, in OHare, working in the Yard etc. They do work well in my car, but the "open air" areas are where I most wanted to use them. After a long frustrating effort to solve (exchanged product, updated firmware etc) it turns out that Motorola is well aware of the problem and decided to ship them anyway - there is a joke of a fix posted on their website.
Basically cool design, terrible quality and almost a nonfunctional device in common applications. I paid a premium for this product when the vendor knew they were deficient - another black eye for Motorola IMHO.
