5 of 5 Few Flaws Wednesday, August 27, 2008
Scott from Athens, AL

Simple, easy to use, and relatively comfortable to wear. I can usually keep it on for a 2-3 hours before my ear starts to get sore. Sound and microphone are very good, generally I can hear better with the headset than with the phone itself, and I've used this model headset with 3 different phones. The main flaw is the charger connection, which is unforunately common in Motorola products. Between my wife and I, we have owned seven Motorola phones and headsets, and the charger connection has worn out on almost all of them. Over time, you have to start wiggling the charger cable around until it makes contact and charges the unit. My last headset went into the garbage after I could no longer get it to charge. But hey - I bought another one, so obviously for me the pros outweigh the cons.

4 of 5 Good HS, but... Saturday, April 12, 2008
A Customer from Corning, NY
Great price on this folding HS from Buy.com. Set up with easy, fit is comfortable (had to bend the ear loop a bit to make it fit right), sound is good, my voice seems clear to person i'm calling. Only compaint i have is that the answer/end call button on the head set is difficult to find and push. The button is large enough, but it is not distinctly separate from the rest of the surface of the headset, and there is no "crisp" button action. Overall though, very pleased.

3 of 5 Its an average headset Tuesday, April 08, 2008
A Customer from NJ
The headset is easy to setup, use and wear. The battery life is good. There is about a 4 sec annoying lag before it connects to the phone when answering a call. That lag does not happen with my wife's H700. The connector (for charging) is not the standard USB style connector found other Motorola phones and headsets. All in all next time I would buy the H700 instead of this one.

2 of 5 It has issues... Monday, April 07, 2008
A Customer from Los Alamitos, California
So I've been having a lot of trouble with this headset. I have an LG VX8700 cellphone and I bought this headset so that when driving I could be handsfree. I don't know if its a compatability issue between the phone and the headset or what, but my phone will frequently drop the headset, often in the middle of a conversation or when they have been connected for awhile. Needless to say, it is difficult and dangerous to deal with re-syncing the two items while driving. So overall, the majority of the time I've had problems with this device, though when it works, it sounds great. Just beware if you have an LG VX8700. Knowing what I do now, I would not buy this product again.

5 of 5 Good bang for the buck Saturday, March 22, 2008
A Customer from NJ
I bought one of these for myself about 6 months or so ago, then another for my wife and they work great, the price is unbeatable for the quality of this device, and one of the best features for me has been that once it's flipped closed, it puts an end to unwanted accidental dials from sticking it in a pocket while on caused by previous bluetooth headsets. It also seems to hold a good charge for someone like me who may be on my cell for several hours a day, I do charge it basically every night, so it hasn't run out on me yet. The price here is much lower than what T-Mobile was asking in stores for this same model.

3 of 5 May be a good bluetooth but fit is important Wednesday, March 05, 2008
A Customer from Fairfax, VA
The HS850 may very well be a good bluetooth, however, if it doesn't fit your ear there aren't adjustments that can be made. My Plantronics 510 had better sound quality to me but friends on the other end said there was a little static. With the HS850 I felt it was more the opposite, that I heard more static and it was a bit more clear to those on the other end of the "line".

3 of 5 Would not purchase again Wednesday, March 05, 2008
gcgiftos from Cadillac, MI
This is the third one we've had and while they work OK, that latex rubber seal which surrounds the center microphone and rests against your ear is really flimsy. The other two lasted several months before that deteriorated. On the new one, it lasted 2 weeks. It works OK without it, but it's just that as long as Motorola put it there, you would think they would make it so it would last longer than just a few weeks. After 5 or 6 months, the plastic becomes brittle and the hinge broke on two of them. Replaced one with a Jawbone. Now that's a well-made high quality piece and well worth the extra money.

5 of 5 THE BEST HEADSET EVER Monday, February 25, 2008
Joe from ValleyForge PA
I have been using this Headset since they were first released These were one of the first BT headsets ever made, many Years ago, it was so long ago people would ask me if that was the whole phone or make fun of me saying things like "beam me up scotty" 1)The longest battery life They say 8 hours and it is true, your phone will die before this headset 2) GREAT sound quality Very Loud Mic Pickup, no one will know you are using a headset 3) GOOD speaker volume This sits on the outside of your ear so you can listen to music, people, TV or whatever without the headset stopping sound from getting into your ear, a VERY Important fact if you use it all day) If you are in a very loud environment like a construction site, get the kind that go into your ear blocking outside sound 4) They are so light (19 grams) you can forget it is on your ear Someone here commented "It feels like the headset is always about to fall off" What you have to understand is that is why you can forget it is on your ear AND why its so comfortable, mine has NEVER fell off NOTE: there is a plastic "ring" around the speaker that is removable for more comfort, I have never used it (I always remove it) They put it there to "channel" the sound into your ear but in testing I don't think it does much AND removing it makes it much more comfortable for me (all day comfortable) READ THE MANUAL 5) They are VERY easy to pair and Get GREAT Range ALSO: I bought the RadioShack Model 33-4006 Windscreen for Tie-Clip Microphone (4-Pack) $2.99 http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2103337&cp I put them over the boom tip and they work better than ANY noise canceling circuitry that I have ever seen You can stand right in front of a fan on high and the person you are talking to won't even hear the air CAUTION: these will be gone soon, GET THEM NOW (I bought 6 of them and put them away) ALSO eBay has TONS of FAKES !!! These are REAL Hope This Helps Joe

4 of 5 Would recommend but with a caveat Saturday, February 16, 2008
Mem from Midland Texas
Overall the headset works well at a good price. The sound is clear and the flip microphone is handy. My experiences on the negative side are these: the way it rests on my ear feels precarious like it will fall off but it never has; it is not as loud as my wife's h500; the charger port is NOT mini-usb (so I have to use another charger); it is larger and not as low profile as the h500. One interesting thing, if it matters, is that the blue light shifts into different patterns during a call instead of just blinking. Hope this helps...

3 of 5 The H500 is Better Thursday, January 24, 2008
Bo from Yorba Linda, CA
I wanted a second headset so that I could leave one in each car. I have the H500 and thought I'd "upgrade" and stay with Motorola so that I could use the same charger. First, the voice quality may be a little better than the H500, but not significantly. However, the HS850 uses a different charger, so that was futile. The power button is almost flush with the outside case and is hard to find while wearing the headset. And, finally, Motorola changed the earloop from the H500 and, like other reviewers, it does not fit my ear as well. It feels like the headset is always about to fall off. Get the H500.

4 of 5 Good Headset; Good value/quality Wednesday, January 23, 2008
Tom Loomis from NH
I have always liked the Motorola blue tooth headsets. They are easy to pair, sound good etc. This one is a little bigger which is also nice as it is not as easily misplaced. Only downside does not use the same mini usb charger as previous versions which means another thing to carry if you have a motorola phone.

5 of 5 Awesome value, quality Saturday, January 19, 2008
A Customer from Mesa, AZ
I am pretty sure this is one of the higher-end models of Bluetooth devices Motorola manufactures, and I am quite impressed with it for only spending $40. We spent about $80 a year and a half ago for the earlier generation 300 series headset and the quality is diminished, to say the least. This headset offers clarity, distance, and ease of use at an affordable price. I am quite satisfied with it and think it looks much cooler as well (part of the reason I prefer Motorola devices - that and my phone is Motorola as well). Overall, great value for your money

5 of 5 Good Deal Thursday, January 03, 2008
A Customer from Southaven, MS
I drive an eighteen wheeler that is very loud and this Bluetooth works great. It is has a clear sound and everyone who calls says the same. It was easy to pair with my phone and the battery lasts on the whole trip. The product is great and so was the price.

3 of 5 Looks better than what it is Wednesday, January 02, 2008
A Customer from Charlotte, NC
The unit is small and light. The stanby mode last for days without recharging. The microphone produces a clear voice to your listeners. If you don't like an ear plug in your ear then this is your set because it doesn't have an adapter to fit inside the ear. The earloop doesn't quite fit around my ear like other units but that could be me. I find the power/call start-end button hard to find when wearing the unit. one thing I don't like is that it doesn't have a mute functionality. You would have to mute the microphone at the cell phone so you would you have use your hands which is the main reason for having a headset. Pairing the unit to my cell was very easy.

4 of 5 Best I've owned Wednesday, December 19, 2007
Michael from Salt Lake City, UT
I have had several earpieces, none of which was particularly satisfying, but my expectations are high, especially for a device with a list price of $150. Most of the features work like they say (I cannot get 3 way calling to work from the earpiece, but my phone does that function just fine). I try to use voice command when driving, but my diesel truck is just a bit too loud for that feature to work well through the headset. No problem in a quieter vehicle. Lightweight, comfortable to wear, long battery life, no complaints from people I speak with. Easy to pair with my phone. Good deal on this item.

5 of 5 Excellent device Friday, December 14, 2007
A Customer from San Diego, CA
I am extremely satisfied with this headset. It is my first bluetooth device, so part of my satisfaction is based on the basic abilities of the technology. However, this particular model is great for a couple reasons: when the boom is closed the headset is automatically deactivated, when opened it is automatically activated. this saves time because you dont have to press buttons etc, just flip it open or snap it shut, much like a clam-shell style cellphone. another unexpected but useful feature of sorts is the ability to hook the headset around your pants belt-loop. that might sound strange, but its a great place to carry it when its not in use, and it fully hooks around and wont fall off randomly (for the most part). Ive seen others that dont do this, so u are forced to buy a hooking attachment, or toss it in your pocket or purse. That portability alone makes it worth the money. sound quality and reception work fine for me too. and the buttons for volume are easily accessible. im very pleased with this product as u can tell.

5 of 5 Works great Wednesday, November 28, 2007
Gyzmologist from Queen Creek, Arizona
I use this mostly when driving or traveling. Unlike many I don't wear it in public unless I'm using it. I like the flip out mic boom as this turns the unit on and off. When I get a call I pull it out of my pocket, flip open the mic boom, and shortly after getting on my ear it picks up the call. After the call I can close the mic boom which powers it off. It is paired with a Motorola E815 phone. I do pick up interference (choppy sound) but have determined that it is the phone and not the headset. I tried an LG headset and had the same interference. If you have an E815 there is a firmware update that helps but does not totally eliminate it. The only con for me is the fit. The ear piece fits on my ear, rather than in it. Feels a little odd but it does stay in place.

4 of 5 Reliable, good performer Thursday, October 04, 2007
LAC from Decatur, AL
This headset works great; volume, range, and clarity are top notch. It's a bit tight, though, where it clips behind the ear - not uncomfortable for short conversations, but I do not wear it just walking around waiting for a call. Do not buy if you spend a lot of time on the phone because after a while it will probably make your ear sore.

5 of 5 Excellent bluetooth headset - Thursday, September 27, 2007
Dr. Alex from Corpus Christi, TX
This head piece works so well this is my second one (lost the first after a 1.5 yrs)... Love the feature of turning it on and off by simply opening/closing the boom. The volume is loud enough & doesn't take a toll on your ear. I def. recommend this product.

5 of 5 Great Headset!! Wednesday, September 26, 2007
A Customer from Mechanicsburg, PA
This headset is well worth the money. Can be turned off (close the boom) to save power when not in use, and activates the bluetooth when opened and is ready to go! We have 3 in the family, and I also use mine on my bluetooth-ready laptop when I talk on Skype.

5 of 5 The best one yet! Tuesday, September 25, 2007
Ed from Katy, Texas
I have owned two different Bluetooth Phones and five different Bluetooth Headsets and this is the best one I have bought yet. I wish the volume was able to go a little higher because I talk in some noisy locations sometimes. This is a minor complaint. The headset is very comfortable. People I am conversing with say I come across very clear. I haven't really tested the range but all the reviews I have read say the range is great. Folding the boom in to turn the device off is a handy feature. I choose this headset because of the reviews it has gotten and I agree, it gets a 5 out of 5 in all categories.

5 of 5 Good buy for the money Tuesday, September 25, 2007
maspess from Chicago
This is the third item I have bought from Buy.com and was very happy with the purchase..arrived in lest than a week at NO COST mail.....worked just fine stright out of the box....came with good directions to hook it up to the cell phone. I had bought one last year for about $60 from another online store and it came in bulk wrapping with no directions. If Buy.com is the least expensive or petty close..its the best place to go, at lest for me.

4 of 5 Good value, easy to use Tuesday, September 25, 2007
Sarah from DeLand, Florida
The directions for matching to phone were a little confusing, but once done, easy to use. Range is ok, but I don't walk away from my phone when I'm using it since it's mainly for driving. I would use it at home but the signal from my wireless router interferes and I get a "popcorn" noise that is really annoying. Otherwise, great product.

4 of 5 Very good product with two flaws Tuesday, September 25, 2007
Chris from Milwaukee, WI
This Bluetooth headset is far superior to my first one. It is very easy to use (especially with a Motorola phone), outgoing audio quality is excellent and battery life seems very good so far. There are two problems: 1. Incoming audio quality is also very good, but the headset speaker sits "on the ear" and doesn't fit all that snugly, so it can be difficult to hear when there is significant background noise. If your car is very quiet inside (one of my cars is not), you shouldn't have a problem. 2. The charging connector should be mini-USB (the same as Motorola phones) instead of CE bus. I don't want to carry a separate charger (or any charger at all when traveling with my laptop) so I had to buy the Motorola CH706 Y adapter, which will allow the headset to charge from a PC via USB but still does not allow simultaneous charging of the phone and headset from a PC. (Simultaneous charging from a wall adapter is possible.) The 5 rating for value is only because of a special price combined with free shipping and a rebate from Buy.com. My net price after rebate was an amazing $25.

4 of 5 Good piece of equipment Tuesday, September 25, 2007
A Customer from East Brunswick, NJ
I am new to the Blue tooth equipment, it is really very easy to use and I love this equipment. It is very light, some time I even do not feel that I am wearing it. Battery life is good and I do not have any problems in receiveing calls and making calls. For $25 after mail in rebate it is worth for its money. I highly recomend it.

5 of 5 Great product! Tuesday, September 25, 2007
A Customer from Yonkers, NY
I never thought an earpiece could have such great reception. It fits comfortably around your ear and can be worn with sunglasses. Anyone I have talked to with the BlueTooth never realized that I was using it. There was no tinny sound or background distortion.

5 of 5 Motorola Headset Tuesday, September 25, 2007
Kathy from Tishomingo MS
I bought two of the motorola 850 headsets. One for me and the other for my husband. We are both very happy with the product except that my husband would like it to not be so loose on the ear. The sound qaulity is good as long as you don't get too far from the phone. I like the way you can cut it off and on and how it automatically picks up the call or transfer the call to the phone if you cut it off.

3 of 5 Some pros, some cons Monday, September 17, 2007
A Customer from New York, NY
The unit is pretty easy to use and the microphone works well. The person on the other end commented that this one sounded much better than my old bluetooth headset from Iogear. However, I might have gotten a bad unit, but the sound quality of the ear piece is pretty sub-par. The voice of the person I am talking to is laced with subtle but annoying electronic static. I have tried it on both my LG phone and my blackberry, the result is the same. I have also tried it in different locations without any difference in performance. I think I will return my current unit and ask for a exchange.

5 of 5 probably one of the best I've seen Tuesday, August 07, 2007
BR from New York
I've tried a few different bluetooth ear sets and this has to be one of the best. The most expensive, or newest gadgets are not necessarily always the best. This one works great, and costs a reasonable amount. I gave it 4 out of 5 on perfomance only because the ear clip could have been a slight bit more snug, but that's just being really nit picky!

A Customer from Claverack, NY
Love the blue tooth ear piece. Easy to turn on and off. I wish the volume could be adjusted a little higher. A little hard to hear in noisy areas. But I guess that's true with any of them or with a cell phone without the ear attachment.

4 of 5 Nice Buy !! Monday, July 09, 2007
A Customer from Toronto, Canada
This is really a great headset with many controls. I especially like switching the volume buttons when you want to wear it on another ear. Great sound and clarity. Charges in a couple of hours and good for me for a couple of weeks. The only problem I found is it doesn't completely fit my ear (It basically comes out occasionally). But, a great headset for the price. Highly recommended

5 of 5 Palm Handheld and Treo Users need this Phone! Thursday, June 21, 2007
A Customer from Los Angeles, CA
I was told by the manufacturer and three separate phone companies - Sprint, Cingular and T-Mobile - that this headset (or the H700 version) works best for Treo phones. I have a treo 650 and this thing is excellent. Clear, easy to use, NEVER falls off my ear, comfy and not huge and ugly. I absolutely LOVE it and aside from a small lag when you first turn it on it seems as close to perfect as you can get. The cheapest you can find this retail is about $100 +. Buy it now.

5 of 5 Better than anything else... Thursday, June 21, 2007
smak from Irvine, CA
I've used a number of these bluetooth headsets, including the newer Motorola H700. This one outperforms all others I have seen, I think because of the design of the actual headset and boom mic. Yes it is bigger than some of the newer designs, but this is an advantage. When it comes to something that has to pick up audio from your mouth, there is a certain limitation to how far technology can really go. Short of the mic being directly in front of your mouth, it should at least be as close as possible. Those tiny headsets just can't do a good job unless you are in a very quiet environment. With the H700, nobody could hear me speak unless i was speaking very loudly...even with all of the claims that Motorola makes regarding technology built into the H700. The H850 seems to do a good job at any speaking level, and outperforms the H700 in terms of clarity for the people you are speaking to. People can hear me much better with the H850. My only complaint is that I wish the earpiece got a little louder, but in reality, its more than loud enough for 99% of situations. Also, it has a proprietary charging plug, rather than mini-usb (that is quickly becoming the industry standard), but a Y-adapter is available so you can charge both your mini-usb phone, and this headset from one mini-usb charger plug. It's a good headset, and a great alternative to using your actual phone when you need both hands free. Highly recommended.

5 of 5 Vastly improves phone experience! Monday, June 18, 2007

This is the second HS850 for our household - finally got my husband to try it and he loves it too. I've been using mine for more than two years - prices have really dropped and Buy.com had the best value for my circumstances. Free shipping was much faster to my area than indicated - rec'd in 2 days. Overall performance is great - wind noise can be a problem, though my research indicates that the HS850 performs better than many alternative products in windy conditions. Decent range, good sound quality and callers can't tell if I am using it or not. After you've been hands-free and cord-free you won't know how you managed without it!

I had a cheaper model that was an off brand a year ago, and someone sat on it and it broke. The other model had somethinf that stuck in my ear and it would hurt if I used it for a long call, this one does not. It also has long battery life, and the minute you open it up it connects to your phone so no fumbling around and nissing calls cause you are trying to get the earpiece to work. I highly reccomend buying this from buy.com, its 3 times the price anywhere else. I ordered it, and it was here in 3 day bescau I ordered it on friday and it reached me on monday via standard shipping.

This BlueTooth was easy to connect, is easy to use, and has been very reliable. Good battery life without recharging. Very happy with this device, and the price was unbeatable. Also very good range from the cell phone. A must-have for those that need a wireless handsfree earpiece.

5 of 5 Good Value, good quality Friday, June 08, 2007

I have used this headset before on a Treo 650P. Bought this one for a Treo 700w and it works great. connects quickly. I have noticed with this headset that there may be an occasional lag causing some reverberation or echo for others. $34.99 is a great deal for this. I paid $99 for my last one that went with my old work phone.
