4 of 5 good to know Tuesday, November 11, 2008 salim from loma linda, CA
so far, from the people I've presented this to, they say is worth the price. last time I looked, an IMAX film of this quality would not be below $10, each. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Mother Earth 10-DVD Collection Tuesday, November 11, 2008 Bill Fleming from Port St Lucie, FL
This is an incredible DVD collection of ten of the most extraordinary IMAX films and pictures of our planet Earth. It is overwhelming in scope, breath and accomplishment. Narrated by two of the most recognizable voices, Charlton Heston and James Earl Jones, the journey is an experience of a lifetime. To say it is fantastic is not enough! Was this review helpful?

3 of 5 nothing compared to Planet Earth Monday, October 20, 2008 A Viewer from Philadelphia, PA
This movie is nothing compared to planet earth. This is just a collection of old documentries narrated by fancy actors. I'm very much into nature but after seeing just 2 of these dvds, i didn't bothered to watch the others. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Imax to the Small Screen Saturday, August 23, 2008 Chris Wyatt from Fort Meade, MD
Who wants to watch an Imax movie on a household television? For years the answer would have been --- almost no one. It is hardly the same experience. However, Mother Earth has bridged the gap and made watching the movie pleasant -- even at home on a small screen. The Africa and Australia disks are especially enjoyable as the camera angles across the sky with views on the vast expanses down below. All in all this is a great product. It came out at $99 retail and was offered at $69 by other online retailers. I bought it because Buy.com offered it on sale at $39. I would not have purchased it at $69. But after getting I would now be willing to pay the higher price if necessary. It is that good. Was this review helpful?

I haven't finished watching all ten disks yet, but if you have a good lcd tv this set is an eyefeast! Beautiful and breathtaking. I must admit I prefer Planet Earth to this set, BUT having both is just great....not to mention, Buy.com's price makes it hard to pass up. Soooo glad I ordered it! :-) Was this review helpful?

4 of 5 What A Buy! Sunday, July 27, 2008 Jonalex from South Jersey
Okay, first of all, this may have been remastered from Hi-Def, but it's still a standard DVD set, not Blu-ray or HD-DVD. So, visually it won't compare to, say, "Planet Earth". But it's worth getting, if the price is right, which it was when I made my purchase. It's a stretch to rate plot and acting, since it's a documentary, but if you consider the plot to be the formation of the earth and the acting to be the narration, then "4's" are appropriate. 4 of 5 mother earth almost ultimate DVD Friday, July 25, 2008 A Viewer from OR
I found the lay out of the series a little under refined. That is kind of "cheesy"LOL, but each film is beautiful and breath taking. The music on a few of them was painful, but the video makes up for it in full. If you pay less then 40 bucks for this set you will be happy with your purchase... Was this review helpful?
3 of 5 Kinda "blah" Thursday, July 24, 2008 mike from Irvine, CA
I really expected exceptional video quality and sharpness. Being "remastered from HD" I guess is nowhere near the HD quality. I bought the HD versions of "Planet Earth" (narrated by Sigourney Weaver) and that is SOOOOO much better than this set it's amazing. This is "OK", but just not spectacular by any means. Grainy pictures (compared to HD at least). I was disappointed. Was this review helpful?
