A new inclusion that should get a lot of purchases from fans who may be on the fence, is the custom character mode. Fighting games have toyed around with this over the years, most notably with the Japanese-only mode in the PlayStation game Rival Schools, and it's a concept that would highly appeal to today's customization-happy gamer. From what we've seen here at Amped IGO, the customization is the deepest yet seen in a fighting game, allowing you to create and name your character's fighting styles, their name, their backstory, virtually everything you need to integrate them completely and seamlessly into the Mortal Kombat universe.
