The treacherous Shao-Khan brings his evil horde of video-game villains through a portal ripped in the universe and threatens to destroy the Earth in this highly unnecessary sequel. Liu Kang and his buds are on the scene to once again do battle to save humanity... adults should quickly tire of the nonstop back flips and somersaulting that combine with computer graphics to give each character their own special abilities. Kids and gamers, however, should enjoy the new characters, the same-sounding pulse-pounding techno music, and the non-stop, but fairly bloodless, violence.
