I just brought a monster cable 700 hd from buy.com it arrive fast and if I get it at circut city or pc richard it cost 83.00plus tax but in buy.com it only cost me 65.00 pluse tax and shipping it is the same one in the store. ever since that experience I brought a lot of things in buy .com Was this review helpful?

This is a great cable and does the job. On the package it says the 700HD can do 1080p, 8-Bit Color, HDMI-CEC and 60 Hz (contrast with the 1000HD with can do 12-Bit Color, 120 Hz, and lossless Dolby TrueHD/DTS Master-HD audio). The thing is in retrospect however is that my twelve-dollar 8-ft Ultra Pro HDMI Cable by GE delivered the same 1080p picture for my upconverting DVD player. Maybe the difference will come when I go Blu-ray and have uncompressed 8-channel 192kHz LPCM (Linear PCM) audio going through the cable as well. The DVD standard maxes out at Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1, requiring much less bandwidth than newer Blu-ray audio formats. I would say go with the Monster Cable if you are already on Blu-ray, but if you are only on an upconverting DVD player you are safe with a 12-dollar generic HDMI 1.3 cable.<br/><br/>One more thing to add about Monster is you can't beat the Lifetime Warranty and the unmatched styling of the cable. Also, the package came with a 111 minute DVD by Disney and Monster about how to move to the High Definition world - shopping for, hooking-up, and calibrating your new HD home theater.
