5 of 5 Superb FM Transmitter Sound Quality Friday, June 19, 2009

Very nice. This is an upgrade from my previous $39.99 FM Transmitter of a different brand that I purchased at a major national retailer. By comparison, this Monster Cable MBL-FM XMTR300 kicks serious a$$!
With my current MP3 player and my previous FM Transmitter, I had to turn the volume up to a minimum of 95% and then have my car radio volume twice as loud as I normally would with any regular radio station.
With the Monster Cable FM Transmitter my MP3 player volume is now at 65% and my car radio volume is down to normal! What a world of difference. The sound quality is fantastic. Plus, lower volume settings on my MP3 player = longer battery life!
I recommend reading the manual. I regret not doing it as the controls are not very intuitive. ...still a great transmitter. Was this review helpful?

It pays to spend a little extra. Did a side-by-side comparison with a less-expensive transmitter and this unit's quality was easily discernable. Avoid transmitters that use presets; this one allows any frequency within a wide range. As with any transmitter, sound quality is a direct correlation the frequency you use. Its simple: Find a frequency that has the weakest interference for your area. In my case its 97.7 (Orange County, CA). "Ease of Use" would be 5 if the buttons were shielded from inadvertent presses. I've tried various other FM transmitters and always got hissing or static. This is the first FM transmitter that I've tried that has met my expectations. While the songs trebble levels could be higher and the songs sound a *little* bit muffled, it's totally acceptable which is why I gave a 4 performance rating. Price/value is very comparable with other models. Using the controls could be a bit better, but I still gave it a 5. I just need to use it more to get better with it. Overall, definitely a 4.5/5. Clarity is only marginally affected in my experience. Was this review helpful?
